Souness has stated in interviews that both he and Williams would push each other on to constantly improve and do better. Another important thing Souness has mentioned is that the Board during his time here wasn't in it for financial gains, fame or to do favours for others, they were all on the same page wanting the best for the football club. Compare that to the mess in the Boardroom today that dares to attach itself to the name of Blackburn Rovers. 4 Quote

He was an excellent chairman and I wish he was around the club even now in a non executive role at the club. Same as Tom Finn 2 Quote

Jackh Posted April 25 Posted April 25 If anything it was Winterburn who was guilty of gamesmanship. He was happy to waste time and let the ball run for a goal kick until Sutton challenged him. 1 Quote

Why should we just allow them to waste the remainder of the game? Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted Monday at 08:43 Posted Monday at 08:43 (edited) I just heard that Vinny Leech has died. He was a member of the Youth Cup winning team back in the day that included Keith Newton, Fred Pickering, Mike England, Barry Ratcliffe etc. He never made the first team at Rovers but he went on to have a long pro career with first Bury and then Rochdale. My abiding memory though is being chased back to our coach by West Ham fans. You’d have thought they’d have just wanted to celebrate beating the soon to be champions but apparently not! Fortunately for me I was a relatively fit 19 year old and they were a bunch of middle aged fat bastards. 😁😁 Edited 9 hours ago by wilsdenrover Quote
