philipl Posted yesterday at 15:24 Posted yesterday at 15:24 Wharton doesn't hide. Opposition teams avoid playing near him and Adam has the self-discipline not to leave the centre of the park which is his territory. 3 Quote

But he's capable of so much more 1 Quote

That makes him sound like Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets rolled into one! Looking at Forest's equaliser, I believe it is Wharton who is one of two Palace players that get somewhat done in the middle of the park before the Forest player plays an exceptional through pass for their goal. I might be being harsh, but to my mind those scenarios show that he is a little weak defensively. It wasn't the fact he got beat but how far off he was. Maybe I am being harsh, but either way, I think at this stage he needs a Will Hughes alongside him to do a lot of the physical work. 1 Quote

You just said “it was an exceptional through pass” 2 Quote
jim mk2 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Watched the highlights on TV. Wharton was substituted in the Forest match but Hughes stayed on? Adam can play beautiful passes but he needs to dominate more and develop an energetic, physical side to his game. There's also the lack of goals. Tuchel has alot of high quality midfield players to choose from and I don't think Wharton is among them yet 1 Quote

philipl Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Wharton had an unimpressive game against Forest but he was still rated 5th best on the park. Not often noted but his passing accuracy and tackling stats are almost super human every match. 1 Quote

He was hugely involved in the goal and created palace's other best chance when ghuei hit the post. He's suffering from not having enough quality around him Quote

Wharton is perfect for that role Quote
