None of this fannying about waiting for the play to break Plus the fact that players like Morishita or Yuki and Dolan last season are next to no use at defending corners. They may as well be on the halfway line occupying an opponent or two. The more players you can get out of the 6 yard box the more chance you have of your goalkeeper defending the corner effectively. I’m sick of seeing keepers trying to make a save on the goal line and failing to keep the ball out. On another point your attacking players are more likely to concede a penalty in those circumstances. Somebody will come up with the idea in a while and it’ll be hailed as a new master stroke. 3 Quote

The ideal scenario is everyone back like normal (to prevent a short corner etc) as soon as the player runs up to strike it - the defending team sprint out the box.. keeper catches it and then plays it up to the now attacking team - leaving a fast break of 8 on 2 etc. 1 Quote

den Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Lee Dixon commentating on tonight’s match saying how Wharton knows where his pass is going before he gets it. I said that from the first time A saw him. It’s why he’s never under pressure. He doesn’t hold onto it long enough for anyone to get close to him. It’s a wonderful talent and not many players are blessed with it. Couple that with pin point accuracy from a first touch and he’s a dream to watch. 9 Quote

He's been a different player second half 1 Quote

roverandout Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 I thought he was sensational second half. He completely dominated arsenal's midfield. I hope he leaves England and moves to Barcelona or real madrid Quote
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 The only bitter part of Wharton leaving Palace and we get a lump sum is that we probably won't see any of it! 1 Quote
