JHRover Posted September 28 Posted September 28 They're doing the same thing to the men's team as they did to the women's only more slowly, and it will end with relegation to a lower level more in keeping with their capabilities and investment 'strategy'. An absolute total disgrace, yet not a sniff of anyone at ownership or board level giving a single solitary stuff. 2 Quote

Rogerb Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Would have to think that if you are getting thrashed every week it becomes a real test of character to be turning out each week. There is an inevitable fall off in numbers and there will come a stage where it will be difficult to put a team out. 5 1 Quote

TheKitGuy Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Is it the same board etc I wonder if an of shoot club would work better for the women's? I'd argue the fanbase could raise a certain amount to at least get them kicking on? are the current players even paid? seems like a glorified Sunday league. Quote
47er Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) Women's team has been turned into a joke. utterly shameful. I wonder if they will see the season out? No respect from Rovers, tearing us apart. Edited September 29 by 47er 1 Quote
lraC Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) I was at the player of the years awards in April 2024 and it came over loud and clear from Waggott, how much they were praising and focussing on the achievements of the ladies team. They had Elton Ashworth from Watson Ramsbottom, presenting the awards to them, player of the year, young player of the year etc. Also, at that time Watson Ramsbottom, were the front of shirt sponsors for the ladies and as we now know, that led to the current deal, which is in it's second season. Given all this and how it seemed so important at the time, to have a reasonable amount of success, for the ladies how has it ended like this? Edited September 29 by lraC Typo Quote
Waggy76 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Maybe it was Waggott leaving that gave Pasha an opportunity to downgrade? Quote

Popular Post Bronzed A Donis Posted September 29 Popular Post Posted September 29 (edited) Blackburn Rovers have paid a heavy price for their parent club's decision not to bid for a place in the Super League. The subsequent loss of key players led to such a weakening of the team that they have been relegated from the Premier League after four years in what was the top level of the women's game. Rovers' fate was sealed in the final match of the Premier League season on Sunday with a goalless draw at Barnet. This consigned them to the Northern Division 12 months after they finished seventh in the table, above Birmingham City and Bristol Academy, both of whom are now playing in the WSL. The Blackburn club secretary, Gemma Donnelly, said: "It was very disappointing that we weren't able to bid for a WSL place after being involved right through the consultation process but the [men's] club felt they could not offer us the financial support required in a league that wasn't a proven entity. The above is from 2011. Quite some going to get both mens and womens teams relegated within 12 months. On the above the same happened again as this summer, the players were told not to worry, all given dossiers and the presentations etc and at 11th hour it was kaboshed. Everything we needed to know about this ownership that trickles through to the mens team eventually which is why everyone should care about how the womens team are treated. For context Burnley Women were in the 6th or 7th tier, Rovers were in the Prem and THE women's club in Lancashire and one of lesding teams in the North West of England, alongside Everton. The mens teams, as we know. Rovers were in the Prem averaging 25k , Burnley championship 14k average. These bustards care not 1 bit about our club. What we are witnessing is shameful. arbitro Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Our heavy defeat wasn't the worst of the weekend. Quote
JHRover Posted September 29 Posted September 29 They have destroyed, and will continue to further destroy, everything about this once great club. The only question is how much longer it continues and what state it is in by the end. Hopefully we still have a club left to rebuild from but I wouldn't approach that with confidence given the amount of damage done up to this point and a continuing refusal to leave. 2 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted September 29 Backroom Posted September 29 It’s pitiful and you have to feel sorry for the girls being sent out to flounder but we are treating them like 7 year olds. The official account tweeted how the application and attitude was there for all to see like somehow that’s what we should be pleased with Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) No solace to be taken from that arbitro...It was THE worst defeat for Blackburn Rovers fans, total humilation. Edited September 29 by SIMON GARNERS 194 Quote

TheKitGuy Posted Friday at 14:24 Posted Friday at 14:24 FA Cup starts for the team this weekend against Stocksbridge Park Steels (Jamie Vardy's first ever club). They are probably a very similar level to us, I imagine 5-1 to Stocksbridge. Quote

London blue Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I know it's a small thing and ultimately unimportant but I'm absolutely appalled by the standards on display here. These fuckers have so much to answer for. Quote
