The ones that won't get new deals will be Trav, Tronstad, Brittain and Hyam as they'll all want good wages. the thick indians still hav`nt realised after 15 years if you get rid of your best players and replace them with inferior ones ,you will get relegated, the only difference now from when they first took over is the fact they luckily stumbled onto appointing 3 decent managers which stopped our descent to oblivion for the time being id`e advise ismael to get out the club as soon as possible before his reputation is completely shredded, this coming season is going to be a complete bomb Quote

Think they will this time but by the sounds of it they'll move right away from any real experience in future in favour of kids, kid loans and small fee Yuki, Gueye types to make small profits on. The very system that nearly got us relegated before Eustace restored some normality to the squad but never mind we might get the long awaited cheap season tickets when they drop us a division again. JHRover Posted Monday at 15:36 Posted Monday at 15:36 The only people attempting to suggest that he isn't a goner are the Club via their media sources, those being the Venkygraph and Radio Lancashire, who continue to push the narrative that the ball is entirely in Dolan's court, that there remains a good offer on the table from Rovers, that he might yet sign it but that he wants to 'explore' his options out there this summer. I think everyone else realises what we are dealing with here and I suspect the club's 'efforts' to persuade him to stay have been derisory given the approach they have taken to other key players and the general running of the club. They don't take any facet of being a professional football club seriously except cutting corners wherever they can so why anyone thinks Dolan is getting different treatment is beyond me. The meek acceptance of some to the situation - a mere shrug of the shoulders at the suggestion/expectation that he will be walking off to a Championship rival in the summer for nothing, potentially a Derby County who were in administration not long ago (look what we'd become if it wasn't for Venkys) is all sickening and unacceptable to me but hey ho I'm a negative moaner. 5 Quote
alex l Posted Monday at 16:50 Posted Monday at 16:50 I don't think Dolan is 100% gone.... If all the stars align and we end up being promoted (yes, not very likely) he'll sign on. There'd be an argument that he isn't of the standard needed in the Prem, but we'd offer a better contract if only to be able to sell him down the line. Quote

Your 1st paragraoh sounds a lot like the narrative surrounding Lenihan's departure. I really think Dolan thinks he is better than he is, his heads been turned. He may end up on the long list of thise saw the grass to be greener then did naff all the rest of their career. Quote
roversfan99 Posted Monday at 18:14 Posted Monday at 18:14 Not particularly relevant to Dolan but that tendency of our players moving on and their move not working out to their advantage has massively shrunk. Obviously you will find that our players in general are very rarely of a standard to establish themselves regularly in the Premier League but a few (Kaminski, Rothwell, Armstrong, Brereton, Szmodics etc) have at least experienced a season up there before then falling back to playing at genuine promotion contenders. roversfan99 Posted Monday at 23:22 Posted Monday at 23:22 Forshaw as well as Hedges? Jesus christ. Shows the ambition of the club. 2 Quote

Mattyblue Posted Tuesday at 05:57 Posted Tuesday at 05:57 (edited) How about the deals to those players that will actually be wanted elsewhere? I.e Travis, Tronstadt, Brittain, how they coming along? Edited Tuesday at 05:58 by Mattyblue 7 Quote
JHRover Posted Tuesday at 06:53 Posted Tuesday at 06:53 Waggott and his low hanging fruit again. No problem doing the easy and cheap ones where the players will be delighted to get an extra year in the Championship, but total silence and excuses on the ones that rightly expect long term decent deals and can simply move elsewhere. Always the cheap and easy route with this lot. Anything complex, difficult, expensive or requiring serious commitment from the club's side - forget it. 2 Quote

Seems like a waste of wage budget to me. He's not been as bad as we expected him to be in fairness and I can only assume his only role would be coming on to see a game out. It's also the classic "pathway blocker" for Montgomery, who's main position is centre mid. Quote
