Struggling to understand what anyone gets out of going to the FF meetings if the atmosphere is miserable/confrontational and the released minutes don't reflect significant amounts of what was discussed. What is the point? It's a complete waste of time, and if what we're hearing on this thread is true then it just aids the club in manufacturing a false narrative.

The main point coming out of all this is that the Club is circumventing the rules established by law which enable/enforce genuine dialogue between supporters and their club.

The Fans Forum is an anachronism. it invites those it likes to join it. It has never had any dialogue with supporters, it has become a little clique for those who believe they are special and who regard others as irrelevant.

It sees its function as to continue its special relationship with the Club's admin and to prevent genuine dialogue which it regards as "rocking the boat".

In the words of Oliver Cromwell:

"You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go.”

Don't different members representing some fans group whist others have been on there for years since Jack Williams days at the club? 

what happens if you aren't part of fan group so how are going to vote for people to go on a forum?

Public ballot open to all, you shouldn't need to be part of a group. Simple statement of why you'd like to be on FF and let the supporter base vote on it.

So is it correct to say that the minutes on the official Rovers site contain lies -that is, reporting things that were supposed to have been said but in fact, were not?

People in groups would vote for their leadership in a vote. 

Also some of the people on the fans forum have been on there pre Venkys. I dont feel it is right to just boot them out.

I understand your POV. Do you think it’s right for people to hold positions on a FF if they don't actually hold the club to account and continue to mislead fans by posting watered down FF

Realistically I can't see the Forum members themselves proposing a vote of no confidence in anyone.

You'd hope though that the individuals in question would have the decency to do the right thing and fall on their swords and resign because as DE has correctly identified above the Forum is now

a) a complete waste of time

and

b) is complicit in the Club manufacturing a false narrative of events.

The fans forum was fine when they could talk about pies and stuff whilst the other fan consultation meetings were happening independently . But now they only hold the FF, its makeup doesn’t appear to cover point 128.1.2 above.

They stopped shareholder and Consultation Meetings under the excuse of Covid and have never even mentioned the possibility of them resuming. 

So perhaps one question needs to be why the Fans Forum meetings are able to take place but the others cannot.

It is abundantly clear that we have now reached a stage where there is no longer even the facade of this being a fair, accurate, representative exercise. The alternative minutes posted on here yesterday clearly display an obstructive, confrontational and unhelpful group of people running Rovers who are clearly uncomfortable with and reluctant to share important information even through this limited channel of communication.

The suggestion that the sit down cosy interview with Gestede, Ismael and Owen at the end of the summer or the outrageous ones with Gestede, Pasha and Waggott earlier in the year are somehow evidence of their willingness to engage, both occasions being behind closed doors, in house interviews with prepared questions and editorial power held by them suggests they think such bare minimum efforts are good enough.

The comment about 'signing 10 players' as though that represents backing from the owners - naturally ignoring that more than that number left the club requiring their replacement in any event and ignoring the millions of pounds pocketed in fees in the process.

Just an outrageous attitude, group of people and they really ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Then to top it all off we can't even get agreed accurate minutes of the meeting out afterwards.

Best off giving it up now and waiting until they are willing to take this seriously.

The club would probably argue that all who want to attend can do so (we’ll move it to a bigger room if necessary).

That of course is a nonsense (but probably fulfils the badly worded regulation) as above a certain number makes it impossible for everyone there to contribute as they’d wish to. 

A further issue with the regulations is they mention the meetings are to discuss ‘significant issues’ but don’t say what sort of things this should include. 

One more while I’m at it, the regulations don’t detail what the consequences of a breach are.
