We can't know this unless Murray as something if he is even coming here which everyone is assuming he is. I think its a done deal given Elliott Jackson reposted the story of him leaving Eastbourne on SaturdayΒ

I meant we can know that Unleaded was only speculating. Given that's what we were talking about, I thought you were responding that we can't know he was speculating, which we can. If you meant we can't know which rumour is correct, if either, then I agree.

Very strange decision, was not first choice in the 7th tier when on loan.Β  He was signed as cover for Workingtons injured first choice and dropped once he returned, in the last few games of the season Workington didn't even bother naming him (or any other keeper) on their bench

Over 21, so if included in the first team squad he takes up a squad place too

My thinking is that some prem team will take Pears to be 3rd choice in the summer and Barrett will be promoted to back up behind Toth.

Cheap and cheerful.

We also have about 10 keepers for the U21's, thought there were a couple of others ahead of him, or at least a couple more highly rated than him?

Maybe Pears is off and this guy becomes No.2, which is crazy but expected of this regime.

Hilton left in January, Eastham, Goddard & Kahn are out of contract this summer.Β  Michalski & Honor are the 2 who are currently in contract from the U21s.

Then we have Wolsoncroft, Thompson & Holt in the U18s

It's certainly a strange decision. I honestly can't ever see him challenging for a first team place and see him more as aΒ  blocker for the pathways of our younger keepers.

It's the low hanging fruit again from Gestede. The real effort should be in getting new deals done for the senior players whose contracts are winding down.

this is a decision that illustrates that nobody in the club has a clue what they are doing,it makes absolutely no sense at all to retain a 20 odd year old goalkeeper who is never going to make a 1st team appearance,he did`nt even make an impression when loaned out in the non league

For reference, this is the game:Β

To be fair, it looks like Dolan was being asked to play left wing AND left back. Talk about a defence going awol.

I've never seen him play so can't comment on ability but is there anything that stand out about him as keeper or just the run of mill keeper?Β

Would you pick Michalski over him and would Michalski be the 3rd choice keeper next season for you?Β

was Pickering not the left back with Dolan on the left wing?Β

Can't believe we never seem to have a capable looking keeper coming through the ranks the academy certainly isn't doing its job with this position.

Can't live off Raya forever and even Pears cost about half million but modern young keepers are largely shite anyway at actual goal keeping.

Can dribble around their box though and are 6'4" !

Especially given their record of reasonably serviceable keepers prior to Rays, with Jake Keane and Frankie Fielding.

You can't teach talent.

You can however teach your goalkeeper that when a cross comes into the six yard box you fucking catch it!

That's the nature of the Academy - you have to play with the hand you are dealt.Β

Michalski is meant to be talented, but he's 17.Β

Michalski is the best young keeper we got. England under 18's international keeper
