De Neve signed for a fee when we’ve paid a fee for Kargbo in January. Throw Hedges in the mix that’s 3 for one spot. The latter well liked by the manager. Linked to Watford striker but can’t see it at that price but shows we are looking for a striker, with Fees already spent on Ohashi and Gueye. Think there could be a few shock sales this window Hedges is going back to the right side of the attack Quote

Hedges can cut inside or play Callum in for the cross. Plus offers good defensive duties 2 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted yesterday at 21:19 Posted yesterday at 21:19 Hedges is awful whichever side he plays on. Creates next to nothing. If he's the answer on the right (and he hasn't been in the 3 yrs we've had him) we are fecked. 7 1 Quote

Where's the sense in a contract of that length for someone who's never played in the championship. Big risk. Big risk to only give a 2 year deal as well. If he is up to the level you immediately need to start negotiating a new deal, with a significant rise, when the season ends. I think a 4 year deal would have been a risk (that said he may not be on much), but I don't think a 3 year is too much risk. 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted yesterday at 21:27 Posted yesterday at 21:27 Kargbo only has 2 years left on his deal without even mentioning an option. That was very strange to give him such a short contract. 1 Quote

For a winger you expect them to be able to create chances.Hedges creates little,His best attribute is against the top sides, Personally I think he works well with the fullback, played a big part in our big wins last season. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea but he also makes intelligent runs off the ball which opens space for others. But we do need better quality 2 Quote

Low wages, just the way they like it and less than they'd have to pay Dolan whose compo will pay this fee probably. Anyone on 10k or over it's a 1 year contract ! Quote
Rover1984 Posted yesterday at 21:45 Posted yesterday at 21:45 Wonder if we will go back in for Marwan AL Sahafi for the right wing. His agent spoke of our interest in January along with QPR. Quote
Tomphil2 Posted yesterday at 21:50 Posted yesterday at 21:50 Maybe they'll loan Kargbo out for 6 months. Quote

Forever Blue Posted yesterday at 22:57 Posted yesterday at 22:57 If De Neve is decent defensively, and Hedges is also favoured, it means the manager wants wingers who are also good tracking back and helping out the full backs. Kargbo hasn’t a defensive bone is his body, so there’s no guarantee he’ll be an automatic starter under Val Quote

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of us but I'm far from being convinced by him either. Quote
DutchRover Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago "Pessimistic" about resigning Batth and Weimann, so predictable. We have low-balled them with 1-year contracts and they want to leave. Club to spin as greedy older players/wanted guarantees to start. Replacement a toddler from the Belgian D tier. 3 Quote

Its a concerted policy by the owners to make sure they don't have players contracted beyond 2 season in case they want to further gut the budget and risk having players on higher wages from a previous deal. 1 Quote
alex l Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 1 year contracts are understandable at their age and particularly with Weimann's injury. If they want to leave, they literally can with nothing to stop them - but they've not signed for anyone either as far as we know. Personally, I'd try and tempt Batth with a 1 year contract with a clause for a 2nd year - 30 league starts for example. 1 Quote
davulsukur Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yep, Jackson reckons we're basically planning for life without Batth and Weimann now. Talks not ended but seems highly unlikely for both now. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25231529.blackburn-rovers-contract-latest-impasse-continues/ 1 Quote
