A ball hasn't been kicked yet, and already 1 of our new signings is out injured. Tavares will be out of the friendlies against Accrington and Everton. We could do with recruiting a top class medical team, for all the usual injuries we will get next season. No disrespect to the medical team at Ewood.

I have total disrespect for the medical team at Ewood. There has to be a reason for the number of soft tissue injuries that we get.

I'm getting a little bit tired of opening up my phone or laptop and the 'news feed' defaulting to our ex-coach beaming out next to a headline suggesting another raid on our already meagre and dwindling resources.

For fecks sake, why don't the ARSEHOLES in charge at Rovers just hold their hands up and say what the 'strategy' and plan is? At least if they were honest about the approach they are adopting, it might be possible for us to adopt a 'siege mentality' and begin looking for positives to make it possible to hold on to at least some shred of hope for the future of our club. As it stands we just get fucking meaningless platitudes, obfuscation and lies peddled to the local so called media, which means we have to make up our own assessment of what is really going on - which none of us actually knows for certain.

VENKYS OUT!

DICKHEAD LYING NO-MARK STOOGES OUT!

PASHA OUT!

Football insider is up there with one of the worst sources in footballΒ

It’s a Peter O’Rourke story, he has been occasionally on the moneyΒ

I can't see this happening... not this summer, anyway.Β  Surely even the clowns at Rovers know that this would go down disastrously with the fanbase, not to mention there'll be a fair amount of animosity towards Derby and Eustace in the Rovers boardroom.Β  If said clowns decide to sell him to keep the lights on then I'd imagine Derby would be bottom of the list of clubs they'd be accepting bids from, and you'd assume there would be plenty of interest in Brittain across the division.Β

If there is one club that isn't bothered what the fanbase thinks, it's this one.

No that's true.Β  But they can be very pig-headed, obtuse and stubborn - so I still think they won't sell to Derby.Β

Can't wait for this to bite me on the arse as he puts the cross in for Weimann's second in a 0-4 defeat on anniversary day.

He was a really good source a few years back, dunno why but anything recent Rovers related he's been miles off.

In years gone by, when we partially resembled a professional and dare I say it ambitious football club, I agree that the people running it would be quite capable of taking the phone off the hook and ignoring / rejecting cash bids for our players even to the detriment of our finances.

Recent example include ignoring bids for Rothwell in January when we were set to lose him for nothing 6 months later.

But I think we have clearly turned a page on that chapter now and that behaviour is a thing of the past. This lot will do anything to achieve whatever it is they are trying to do. I suppose it helps when you've got half the fanbase believing that remaining in existence and losing key players to the likes of Derby County, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth is the best that can be expected.Β

Fortunately the other half of the fanbase don't live in such a negative small minded world and do expect more and better from this club. Not that it will make any difference to what the club does, because they'veΒ  made it quite clear that the opinions and values of the supporters are totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Very very rare - occasionally is generousΒ

This might be one of those rare occasions. It’s hardly a stretch to say it might be true.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Derby are interested in Brittain. They won't be the only club though after he had a very good season.

Having said that, this particular story is probably one of those easy ones to write as quite a few Rovers players will be linked to Derby simply because of who their head coach is, especially after Batth and Weimann went there.

Definitely not - one year left on contract worked with Eustace last year ….i still stand by that football insider wouldn’t be a source I’d have much confidence in. Time will tell

Have we even started to talk to Brittain, Travis or Tronstad about new contracts yet?

The three players publicly confirmed no communications had taken place as recently as April. So things will have had to have changed during the last 2 months during a time when the players have been away on holiday and the club has been semi-dormant.Β

I have my doubts.Β

Brittain, Travis, Tronstad, Hyam and even Hedges (not a debate if he's good enough, just that we won't sign anyone better), if none of those are sold off this summer, that's likely 5 of our first choice 11 that are out of contract next summer, with the rest (Toth, Carter, Riberio, Kargbo, Cantwell & Ohashi) out of contract the summer after.

Squad planning at it's finest.

I highly doubt it, seems like ages ago the word from LET was that contract talks with Brittain were positive and a deal was close. Total silence since.Β

I have no doubts that the club have 0 interest in renewing any of those contracts, due to the uplift in salary they can all now command.

But how do you know we didn't offer him a good contract?

He's closer to his family if he moves near Derby.

He wanted to work with Eustace again.

Sorry, I seem to have jumped the gun defending the club.

Why don't we just give Derby last year's Β Rovers shirts and then they will feel even more at home.Β

Get out and take the players to a club with better ownership. Simple and an attractive sell.

Rovers will always be at a disadvantage while owned by Venky's. Better, more fan engaged days will be ahead of us if we can somehow change ownership, regardless of the division we end up playing in.

Our owners are not interested in doing whatever it takes for Blackburn Rovers to win trophies, avoid relegations and earn promotions.

What more does a fan need than that to want new owners.

I know someone here mentioned before about losing out on bonus payments etc but if I were any of the 3 I’d sit down and either accept or decline the offer. If I’m declining then I’d hand in a transfer request. Why wouldn’t they? Taking the chance on playing another season here to risk injury or really poor form which could lead to less interest next season

i doubt by putting in a transfer request the money they could potentially lose out on is ground breaking and could easily be made back with their new wage at a new clubΒ
