Well, I sincerely disagree. If it was known Travis was available for ยฃ2M he would have gone a long time ago. I am sure lots of enquiries have been made, but not gone further as we are valuing him much higher.

We will see what happens in the next few weeks.

Millwall bid about 900k for him when he had plenty contract left and Ipswich took him, barely used him and didn't follow it up.

It's been known over a year he wants his next contract as security be it here or anywhere else yet no concrete bids we know about.

So yes we'll see in the next few weeks although we are unlikely to see 2 or 3 million but strange things occasionally happen.

Travis on his day is a top championship player, can be average on his bad days like Saturday.

Would be a big miss, especially when replaced by Gustavo Anonymous from some relegated Romanian team for 50k.

Average on the vast majority of appearances, sometimes downright poor.

I wonder who will win that race.

Hi Dapo, itโ€™s Rudy, weโ€™ve set aside ยฃ3k per week for you, how does that sound?

Dapo?

Dapo?

Made offers to "at least 3" of the 4 players.

As we know one of them was Hedges, wonder who was the odd one out?

Would imagine Tronstad.ย

Yes, I mentioned heโ€™d be an exception panels case yesterday but omitted to do so this time - my mistake.

Iโ€™m not sure whether heโ€™d get through that way as the regulations are very subjective on this - all they say is it must be demonstrated that the player only failed to get to 15 points because of โ€˜exceptional circumstancesโ€™.

Thereโ€™s also the ยฃ5,000 + VAT fee the club would need to pay (up front) which needs to be considered - would Pasha sign off on that????

What I meant is I outlined in the other post (dunno if you saw it) why I think we'd have a very good case at an appeals panel. I think it would constitute exceptional circumstances personally. As for Pasha, the more likely we are to not be able to do the purchase after dragging it out, the more 5k will look like a bargain to him ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคก

Yep (for as long as weโ€™re in The Championship).

I guess the idea is to reward clubโ€™s for giving youth a chance - but youโ€™d have thought theyโ€™d have set that chance a bit higher than a minute!

Youth player for this season is anyone born on or before 1st January 2004.

You would have thought that. I'd also have thought they'd be interested in protecting domestic youth players getting their own opportunities.

Yes I did read it - I think your points are very good - itโ€™s just impossible to know from the regs whether the panel would think the same.

Agree on your domestic youth player comment, I was just trying to work out their thinking regarding giving so many points for a debut.ย

He was demonstrably out of favour and a bit out of form, so we got lowballed by a club who had no money anyway and probably scared them off with our asking price. Then he had a very good season after. Think we would have no issues getting 2 million. 3 might be a more drawn out and potentially unsuccessful affair, but that would be my asking price. If we were actually going to reinvest a bit.

Mafoumbi isn't selectable for a matchday squad because heโ€™s not registered. To move him from an ESC slot to a GBE the club have to first update their squad registration with the EFL before he meets matchday eligibility rules.

We need the slot back so it's good for us to do this, but think of the lad. Comes in as an 'exceptional talent', doesn't get played, doesn't get registered then gets made a humiliating laughing stock appearance as an injury time sub to enable the paperwork for someone else to join.

Pretty ruthless to do that to the kid. I'd cringe for him as he walked onto the pitch. ย Could have been planned better IMHO

I mean we run Hedges out there every week.

I consider that cruel too.

This is what I hate the most about the transfer window.

We've dropped one point already because we've gone into the season with an incomplete squad and seem in no rush.

Anyone arriving now will take weeks to get up to speed (see Henriksson), if they're even match fit.

We'll rue these dropped points at the end of the season - as we always do.

If Ryan Hedges ends up being the first "significant" contract renewal in +2.5yrs...

If Carlsberg did contract renewals........

It sure as hell wouldn't be that one!

As things stand - we can't even get Ryan Hedges to sign a new deal. Chew on that!

Up vote/like Darwin Rover 007 comment above for a laughing reaction to be added

Can we also have a sarcasm emoji?

Under-21s don't need to be registered, so he can play in any league match at any point.ย

I think we're comfortably at the point where I put credence in Wilsden confirming what Jackson says, more than Jackson confirming what Wilsden says.

He's also missing the third option of going to the appeals board. One thing that doesn't seem to have been discussed here...I'd expect even if Miyoshi's game in the second tier knocks his points down, it shouldn't be too hard to argue to an appeals board that he would have qualified a week ago and isn't any worse a player now. Japan international, experience in the Bundesliga, Championship, Belgian top flight. Prime years. In his recent season at Brum he played 43 Championship games which would have auto qualified him if it had been applied for but obviously he had a release clause so that didn't happen. Seems a no brainer for a panel to me.

I doubt the Rovers even knew of the options, I hope someone informs them. You never know they might act.
