Tiny Taylor ?

Was he ever a "Best XI" guy. We had Short and Berg for most of his time with us, and Chirstian Dailly was the starting CB before Berg came back. Amoruso, Babbel and Zurab came in not long after.

I'd have Tiny in with Damien Johnson, Jonathan Douglas, John Buckley etc as guys who played and were "Bench" options, but can't say I ever think of him as a quote-on-quote "Starter".

Think both were bad against WBA, but latter end of season Tronstad was bestΒ

I was watching both Trav and Tron last Saturday closely. On several occasions both players managed to intercept a pass and get half way in front of their immediate opponent. Common football sense says you Β then run directly in front of your opponent. That way they either have to let you go or foul you, if you have reasonable pace that is.Β
On nearly every occasion they were too slow to run in front and they then had the ball taken off them. This happened several times and I was really surprised at both players lack of pace. Are they being flogging in training ? I know 90% of players will train just as hard as they are made to. Most like an easy life.

I’m not sure. Didn’t he have a spell at right back ?

God I'll have regressed that memory if he did.

Kenna, Grayson, Curtis, Neill would all be ahead of him in this scenario though? Wikipedia (I know) has him down for 88 appearances in 6 years - with 33 appearances in 2002/2003, so maybe he was more involved than I remember. Maybe he took over from Craig Short as he aged out?

Tiny is 45yrs old. Jesus.

We need someone comfortably better than those two rather than "competition". I like Yuki as an impact sub but Gueye is awful.

He trips over his own feet, and couldn't hit a barn door from 5 yds. He shouldn't be considered for the 1st team, unless every striker gets injured. I heard last week, Harry Leonard was in the under 21s, he'd be a better option than Gueye.

It’s only my grandson that keeps me interested. I now think the Chicken Chokers will outlast me unfortunately but I’m pretty sure they won’t outlast him as he’s only 18. I desperately want to keep the love of Blackburn Rovers in my family. His dad only maintains a watching brief via the TV nowadays. I am away on holiday. This was our text conversation after last nights game -

Grandson Β - β€œ That’ll teach me for going to midweek cup games β€œ.

Me - Β β€œ Yeah, anybody play well ? β€œ

Grandson - β€œ Tavares my MOM, Β Cantwell didn’t have a good game but you can still tell he’s a step above the rest β€œ β€œ Let’s hope Toth doesn’t get injured cos that Michalski is awful β€œ. β€œ Travis off to Derby as well β€œ.

Me - β€œ Mm, Birmingham up next. β€œ

Grandson - β€œ Ticket already bought β€œ.

Me - β€œ Good on you Luke, it won’t always be like this ! β€œ

He’s a great kid, off to Uni this year and one of the reasons for the Uni he chose was so he could get over to watch Rovers.

Β

As little a token it is right now,

Owners come and go

But Rovers fans live on forever.

He played RB in the Worthington Cup Final didn't he?

He was OK there but much better at CB.

I'd personally put Alebiosu as a firm positive. Big, strong & quick. Managed to put in a cross from nowhere yesterday with 2 players around him, Hedges has never done that. I think he'll be a very useful player and has all the attributes to be more than that.Β

Agreed, that cross was impressive. Maybe partly luck but he seemed to be in a blind alley and somehow lobbed it into a dangerous spot. His overall game did seem a bit less impressive than on his debut though, but he's not one I'm worried about as it stands.

What a lovely post.

As hopeless as the situation seems, we have to keep fighting for their benefit.

Gueye has already did more for rovers than Leonard ever hasΒ

Rover is believed to be interested in linking up with his old manager, John Eustace.

But did it mention Rover felt his working conditions had got worse, that the club had asked him to work for nothing and that Pasha/Gestede refused to pay his bus fare home?Β

Β

Not the first time Rudy has refused to do somethingΒ

because to me your earlier posts, made it sound like you where supportive of the situation.

No, I wasn’t. I was just stating that there will be academy players in the matchday squad every fixture this season.Β

Our squad needed adding to last season. What position have we actually added to in this squad and not simply replaced outgoing players?

It's another pathetic, underfunded transfer window from whoever's in charge.

How is there only talk of needing one more incoming. It's terrifying stuff and shows a lack of ambition around the place.

Is there a domestic player Rovers are willing to pay a reasonable fee for?

In the mould of Brittain to Boro or Travis to Derby?

What the hell is happening to the club.

Suhail Pasha and Venky's have got to go!

Monday September 1st at 7pm.

Have they given a reason for the change from 11p.m. to 7p.m.?

At least Suhail has a ready made excuse for various transfers falling through this time for the next FF Meeting.

"As far as we were aware" the deadline was still 11p.m.!
