FE123 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 RE the BrfcPrivy account on Twitter. Its extraordinary that a senior member of a multi-million pound business sees it necessary to leak propaganda from an anonymous twitter account in a desperate attempt to generate positive PR. Its a clear reflection on the fact we are run by amateurs. The info he gets and leaks, has to either be a member of VI’s staff or someone on the board. Shambolic, heads should roll. 9 Quote

Its irrelevant either way. We know the club have messed up with the player contracts so it's ultimately on them to not be so utterly incompetent. 3 Quote
RoversClitheroe Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Does Cantwell just jog around and do nothing? I honestly have no idea what he brings 1 Quote

Lancaster Rover Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Thanks, I missed the first couple of minutes so didn’t catch who it was. I’ve been wracking my brains thinking of an injured/squad player whose scouse that it could have been Quote
bigbrandjohn Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) In orher news Eustace was proud of the lads for not letting the heads drop.  Clearly they are not tall enough. Edited August 16 by bigbrandjohn Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I text my lad (who is at the game) at half time that Cantwell needed to do more, so fair play on the second half impact Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Right winger, Trav replacement, and a centre forward are all desperately needed. Even then, the quality in squad depth is so poor. De Neve and Axel are not good enough options off the bench. If Alebiosu has a bad injury then we've only got one right back at the club, who's actually better as a right sided CB anyway. Shambolic. 9 Quote

Agreed  once the injuries start to hit in Nov/Dec we really will be screwed, if you take some of the players who are more probable bets for a few weeks of treatment out of contention for the 11, it then is one dross team   5 Quote

London blue Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Based on what I've seen so far, this is what I think we would need to maintain 7th spot from last year. Backup GK, assuming Pears goes Starting CB Replacement for Trav. 2nd string CM Starting RW Striker (and not some £200k pickup) If we actually fancied improving the squad, you can add a LW and another striker to that. We're led to believe the club expects one (1) more new recruit, and to replace Trav. What should happen and what will happen are so far apart, that I question the judgement of anyone who tries to assert we're anywhere near the strength of last season. Unless the above signings are completed I'm pretty confident we'll be battling Wednesday for bottom of the pack. 7 Quote
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 17 Posted August 17 (edited) Alan Nixon reporting that Liverpool will receive a percentage of any Travis deal. No idea if that’s accurate, but if he left on a free to another English club, while being under a certain age, then it sounds similar to the scenario we hoped for with Dolan. Unfortunately, we missed out - Liverpool won't be. Anyone else want to put a boot in on us while we're already down? 🤣 UPDATE: Edited August 17 by Tim Southampton Rover 1 Quote

We'll have paid Liverpool compensation when he signed his first pro deal here and any deal up to 23 years old. He's 27 now, they'll get nothing more, surely? Can't be anything in any contract as they released him. Unfortunately, we missed out - Liverpool won't be. Anyone else want to put a boot in on us while we're already down? 🤣 UPDATE: True (ish) Travis was with Liverpool until 2014 (which apparently was the season he turned 17, so it looks like Liverpool would be due 2% of the full transfer value rather than the 2.5% that the twitter account states) Disclaimer - Sunday morning maths is not my strong point, so below is the working 😉 Though if anyone is lazy, WilsdenRover with likely be along to check my work sooner rather than later 😉 Thanks in advance Wilsden 🙂 (Edited from Liverpool 1.5% to 2% following Wilsdens fact check 😉 )  The distribution of solidarity payments is as follows: 5% of the transfer fee is set aside for solidarity payments. This 5% is then distributed among the clubs based on the period the player was registered with them, calculated from the season of the player’s 12th birthday until the season of their 23rd birthday as follows: – Season of 12th birthday: 5% (i.e. 0.25% of total compensation); – Season of 13th birthday: 5% (i.e. 0.25% of total compensation); – Season of 14th birthday: 5% (i.e. 0.25% of total compensation); – Season of 15th birthday: 5% (i.e. 0.25% of total compensation); – Season of 16th birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 17th birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 18th birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 19th birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 20th birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 21st birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 22nd birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation); – Season of 23rd birthday: 10% (i.e. 0.5% of total compensation) The distribution is proportional, ensuring that clubs that contributed more to the player’s development receive a larger share. Popular Post Ricky Posted August 17 Popular Post Posted August 17 I don’t agree with the 1 player needed. As a minimum for me it’s: keeper (or use pears as number 2) centre back centre mid (when Travis goes) right wing proper striker (£3-£4m man) 11 Quote

I am pretty sure Liverpool released Travis in 2014 (rather than Rovers buying/poaching him) so there would not have been any compensation to be paid anyway. However solidarity payments are always applied to all transfers. They just tend to be such low numbers (unless the fee is mega millions) that they are often not reported on Edited August 17 by KentExile 1 Quote
SpaceBarSlam Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Derby have offered 1.5 million for Travis. How exactly has letting this spill out into a what has clearly become quite a bitter stand off benefited the club at all? We clearly want to move him on, he wants out and clubs will have been following the fallout and know that it's hardly going to be a case of apologies on both sides and Trav reintegrated as captain if his valuation isn't met. Astonishing mishandling. 3 Quote
