**Maybe it doesn't but not spending over an extended period of time is an absolutely 100% guaranteed way to fail.

no it`s does`nt, but not spending also puts you at risk of relegation,especially when other clubs in the division are indeed spending,this clown is supposed to be a "business man " is`nt he

Imo he isn't here to try help build a team that can get us promoted. Promotion is not on the agenda here.

Broughton might not have been very good at his job but imo  he wanted the club to progress and wasn't just looking at saving the owners a few quid 

It does depend on what your idea of success is, I'd say play offs, the question is how long they get.

Miller mentioned getting to the PL during his interview and that the plan under Gestede and Ismael. 

I think Ismael is Gestede's choice for the head coach job and they are aligned along with Adam Owen. People forget about Adam Owen and his range of contacts he has 

I also think Ismael wanted to push on this season and I don't think he expect Brittain and Travis to move on and I think he expect them to re-sign here long term. This hasn't happened for him but he isn't to blame and he has dealt with the situation with understand but telling the supporters what has gone on. hence why we seen his mention this season has a transition season

I told you I always want the best for the club. I answered you. It shouldn't need outwardly stating but if that means Gestede doing a good job with recruitment then hopefully he does a good job. If he does, he'll get no criticism from me for it. Theoretically I'd like every employee of the club to succeed. My only caveat would be sometimes it can be papering over the cracks and dragging out our purgatory with Venkys, but it's hard to know what if anything could get rid of them anyway.

Gestede's appointment gained rightful criticism because he was completely unqualified for the job, especially at a club of this calibre. He also dropped us like a bad habit when he was a player, so that won't have helped, despite the club's bizarre attempts to paint him as some club legend.

It's up to him to make all of that irrelevant by doing great work. The jury is still very much out on that for now, especially since the contract situation has deteriorated again since the Broughton days were swapped for the Gestede era.

Come on chaddy. Are the actions of this football club, one who cannot offer competitive wages to get any proven first team players to sign, befitting one that genuinely cares and is striving for promotion?

You seem a bit paranoid about the alignment but Ismael seems more and more pissed off with each passing interview. Dont swallow the "transition season" rubbish. Its operation cut backs, results are secondary.

New players will always say the stuff about pushing for Premier League etc.

I do somewhat sympathise for Ismael as no one can possibly appreciate how rotten this club is until in on the inside. He is far from one of the major issues at the club, although to be honest I dont think hes a good manager. Maybe you disagree now.

He knows where the onion bag is and has decent experience at this level. He is 32 mind, so it would only be a stocking filler, not the main present. But maybe he could coach some of our other 'strikers'..

Available on a free. Boro connections backstage. Maybe one to keep an eye out for. This could be one of those last minute signings, when other targets fall by the wayside. Thing is, he's probably still better than anything we currently have upfront, so would be an improvement on a free.

I'm sure we were linked with him a good few years back too, but he was priced at £15m at the time.

Assombolonga has had 2 failed seasons abroad in Turkey (the latest in the second tier) after a failed brief spell at Watford, and is 32.

Obviously I want the person in charge of player recruitment at the club I love to recruit some good players. It would be weird if anyone didn't, and I'd suggest your paranoid implied assertion that some people do says more about you than other posters.

Obviously we all want what's best for the club. It was a simple question which only needed a simple answer.
