If we buy any more foreign imports we'll be renamed something similar to Internazionale Milano! How's about INTER ROVERS. It needs renaming because it certainly isn't Blackburn Rovers and hasn't been for 15 years. 7 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted 12 hours ago Backroom Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I still think Gueye will leave this week, problem is even if you don’t rate him we need to replace AND bring more competition in Edited 12 hours ago by Tom 3 Quote
Frederick Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Can see a few key players leaving over the next week. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Anyone know anything about St Pauli forward Oladapo Afolayan? would cost £2m according to Alan Nixon Quote

Or a PL youngster. Not the scenario I would want happen, but can see us bringing in someone on deadline day to fill the gap if the rumours of Gueye to Emirates are true. I'd take Dennis back if it's a cheap deal, I think he was poor last season but hasn't played much and there's a really good player there. Not sure if his attitute stinks or not, but Ismael will be the judge on that. Dennis can play out wide and upfront if needed too. We need to loan out Leonard in any case - he needs regular men's football, preferably in League One. 1 Quote
Old Codger Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 5 hours ago, Tom said: I still think Gueye will leave this week, problem is even if you don’t rate him we need to replace AND bring more competition in He wasn't his usual self in the post match interaction with the travelling support, that's for sure. Nice lad and a great positive around the dressing room, but no great loss if he was to move on. Maybe to a club that can develop him further, and polish out his obvious flaws whilst optimising his strengths. Quote

I know what his theoretical strengths are but I'm not convinced they exist in real terms. I'm sure we can replace with better. 3 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I'm going to put Afolayan in the.same boat as Miyoshi. Nearly 28 and £2m, with other clubs interested. I just don't see it happening at all. 4 Quote

roversfan99 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I dont think Gueye will leave but I would happy to move him on and replace him as he isnt good enough. Ismael has mentioned only signing 1 and replacing any outgoings but I wonder quite how that applies. For example, will Travis still be replaced as we are still one light especially with Baradji injured, or is he considered the replacement? I suspect the latter. And will players like Buckley and Leonard be replaced considering that they arent in the first team squad to begin with? We need more players but I suspect they wont be with that being the rationale. Maybe even Pears too. Hyam would surely be replaced but very difficult to get someone as good, especially when we cant offer competitive wages. Quote

He had one good season quite a while ago and has had various poor loan spells, was dreadul for us and is on massive wages. 17 1 Quote

Reckon they are all top level champ players currently That's why they are unrealistic, Rovers do not pay the wages that a top level Championship player such as Adam Armstrong or Rak-Sakyi would want. This is why we are looking for "unpolished gems" (Im being positive after yesterday) from the european lower leagues Edited 5 hours ago by KentExile 4 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Buckley and Travis have both left Rovers by the looks of it given their Instagram following. Do we want another centre midfielder? Maybe so. We need right winger in. Pears will go. Probably Derby. Can't see him staying now he is 4th/5th. Whatever has actually happened there. Plenty of rumours tho what has actually. Maybe find out after he gone. I would loan Leonard out. Not sure if he has been told to leave as rumours suggest or why this is the case 1 Quote

We wanted one at the start of the summer, and nothing has happened to reduce that need. 2 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I wouldn't go anywhere near Dennis again he's clearly a spent player just hanging around for the money, what he did years ago is irrelevant it's what he's done recently he needs judging on. As for Gueye it's a tricky one as i think a squad needs a player like that in it who can come on and put it about physically but yesterday showed the other side to him. You'd back Leonard over him 9 times out of 10 when put through on goal and although offside he still fluffed a chance he should be burying, tangled his feet up on another then head down straight away and starts moaning. He's definitely replaceable but will they and with what ? We need a good striker not another might do might not winger or midfielder. Edited 5 hours ago by Tomphil2 1 Quote

I would suspect that the club may think they have enough in Tronstad, Baradji, Tavares, Montgomery & Forshaw, depending upon the fitness/injury status of Baradji & Forshaw Or at least they may feel that other positions are more important. I would suspect if we do get another one in, it will be a teenager on loan to tide us over until January, probably on deadline day Edited 5 hours ago by KentExile Quote

Travis certainly has. To have Ismael repeatedly calling him out in the press and worse still, to have someone internal hiding behind that anonymous privy twitter account tweeting about him (and Brittain) is just totally lacking class. He happily played against West Brom despite rumours and we know what this club is like. Still, attempts to make him seem the villain seem to have partly worked and some idiots will be ordering one more inflatable snake for the Derby game. 5 Quote

Foreign owners, foreign board, foreign head of football operations, foreign manager, foreign players - you're damn right it doesn't feel like "Blackburn" Rovers any more. I'm sticking with Inter Rovers. 4 Quote
