Leonard is as good as gone. I reckon VI has refused to admit it because they won’t rubber stamp that deal until they get the one they want.

Elliots source probably closer to the player.

In regards to the academy perhaps the new remit is sell anyone with any value in them right now with add on's and sell on's attached instead of carrying them here and paying them.

Then replace with more promoted youth and a few freebie signings costing even less in wages and try and develop them at that level quicker than normal.

They seem to want to create a conveyor belt right throughout the club where every single player on the books is a saleable and potential value increasing asset rather than a depreciating one or stagnant non value item.

Are you sure? It’s the first I’ve heard of established players not counting. At what point does a player become established?

I thought it was any player who had come through our academy or even another English academy??

Maybe we're talking about different things, but this is what Gestede said:

"We used to be over 2,000 minutes for Under-23 Academy players. Last 12 months, 142 minutes."

They want to get minutes into the academy graduates to give them resale value.

We called it the morning

rovers search for a striker Nixon fires out a couple of names and no doubt there will be a couple more names before Monday evening

Yep.

Personally dont think there's anything in Soumano, Smit or Gudjohnson, few more random names will come out yet.

The Baradji situation is peculiar. Doesnt even seem to know whether surgery is required.

Also, the Dutch striker already rubbished, and the Leonard sale being agreed also rubbished. And no contact for Browne. Hard to keep up amidst the wrong information.

It’s what happens when people live on every word that comes out of nixons mouth

The Baradji one is so stupid - but also makes me understand why they are still after another mf

The Leonard story is odd. Elliott doesn't usually publish a story like that unless he's spoken to someone at the club first and they've confirmed it

Baradji could well be this seasons Dennis, signing a player with a known injury just doesn't seem to all that clever but I hope I'm proved wrong and he makes a good impact.

Go Ahead Eagles reporter says nothing in the rumour and the striker is needed for the season.

Yep putting fake rumors out their to pull the “least we tried” stuff, doubt the other striker from gent is true either

Established players like Carter and Wharton won't count towards that figure, just like Travis didn't count towards last year's.

It's a target figure for giving a pathway from the academy to the first team. Why would you count players in their mid 20s?

Ah okay, that makes more sense.

But what is the cutoff? Is there an official age where the minutes dont count towards this self imposed target? If we think its just say sub 24 year olds only Leonard is going to subtract from that.

This is the quote from Gestede: "We used to be over 2,000 minutes for Under-23 Academy players. Last 12 months, 142 minutes."

So I guess any player under 23 (possibly including?) that came through the academy.

It’s why he’s a loan with a view. Think it will be a bonus if he comes good in the next few months.

For some reason they've been absolutely desperate to bring Baradji in.

A loan to buy for a player they can't give a timeframe for is a head scratcher. We're a CM down with Travis leaving, we're really short there now.

We’ve signed 8 players this window, it’s clear we’re being active in the market. It’s the one summer you cant say the club haven’t made efforts to bring players in.

Why would they bother to put a fake rumour out there that we’re trying to sign (checks Twitter) ‘Milan Smit’?

Far more likely it’s agents putting names in shop windows.

I imagine we won't want to rush Baradji, considering it's an international break next week, it at least gives the physios more time.
