Brittain along with Tronstad was one of our best players last season and important one but Brittain good going forward had some defensive lapses....still one of the best players on his day in the division.

I wasn't a fan of Brittain as I've always thought he's a poor defender but half-decent going forward. Last season he excelled in that respect along with his workrate so it will be disappointing for yet another player to leave after a good season.

The bigger problem is that we'll likely replace him with someone cheap who is poor at defending and going forward.

Like Booth,I`m not a Brittain fan. I have no problem with us selling him for what we can get.Β  He is very good going forward, but always strikes me as soft defensively.

My issue is that some of those funds won`t be used to offer decent contracts to Travis & Tronstad who are probably vastly superior to their replacements(if even replacements by obscure foreign League footballers areΒ  contemplated).

Difficult times indeed,

!

Brittain was a significant cog in our late season resurgence at the end of last season. As with the other positions we have, we'll replace them with European relegation candidates with zero league experience and pray that they can do something.Β

There is only so long this kind of "strategy" can pay off before you begin tumbling down the leagues. We might just be very lucky that Sheff Weds and Hull are in a direr position than we are.

Some chaddy-esque revisions on Callum Brittain happening.

He’s a top right back at this level. Huge loss if he goes.

Agreed. Most things started from him. Always available in space. Balls always switched to him. Got us moving forward More than anyone else on the pitch

Agree.

Not only that, think Travis and Tronstad (and maybe even Hyam) look in the mirror and ask themselves if they really want to be here, as if they didn't know already!

Posted earlier in the weekΒ It would be devastating if we lost 1 of our 3 key players, disastrous if we lost 2 and catastrophic if we lost all 3.

It's not looking great.

We are going to be relegated and what is more, our owners don't care!Β

They do care, relegation us what they wantΒ

You also posted earlier in the week that he signed a new contract.

This sort of weird conspiratorial thing is so fucking boring. If you genuinely think the owners have any plans beyond setting arbitrary budgets, then you need help.

Posted earlier today on that one.

In any event, the only thing a new contract secures is a potentially bigger fee for Rovers.Β  How many players sign new contracts with release clauses!?Β  Bigger wage or not, if the lad doesn't fancy being at Rovers any longer and other more ambitious clubs want him then it's game over.

Funnily enough, do you know who Boro’s top earner is? Sort of proves your point on this post.
Β

a Clue: he likes big diagonal balls!

Managers of many clubs talk about their new signings and what they bring to the club with one of the key attributes being a winning mentality.

3 out of our 4 signings (if Baradji gets over the line) come from relegated sides used to losing!Β  That does not augur well!

Disgraceful from the club on the Trav situation.Β  We really show our players how much we want them.Β  Sad really sadΒ

You could argue that signing 30+ lads on short deals is a bad sign, but then you did last summer! Admire the fresh approach.

Really? I need help?Β  Let's see.Β  I probably need help though. I must to have followed this Venky Masterclass in how not to run a football team, or how to destroy a successful team in one season, and still be keeping up with Rovers every day.

That’s not the point, you’re suggesting they deliberately want us relegated. I choose to point out how fucking stupid that is. I don’t need reminding how much their negligence has fucked us over in 15 years thanks.Β

I said I expect 2 of Travis, Tronstadt and Brittain to be gone by September. This is number one incoming.
Β

The minute we signed a right back for a fee the writing was on the wall. I doubt a realistic contract for one of the better Champ players in his position has been offered.Β

Britain is a class player but guys regardless of budget cuts we can’t afford we offered what had. Should he get more yes Venkys should do everything they can to keep him. However, I much rather get the cash move on than end up in another Diaz situation….
