The min Travis was brought back by Eustace and proved his worth to Rovers again is the min he should have had good terms slapped in front of him.

Iv'e heard that a big reason for Eustace's displeasure behind the scenes from pretty early on is because he wanted contracts for his core players and prospects to be discussed but was outright blanked.

In other words he went into bat for his players because they were doing it for him on the pitch, Mowbray and Venus always did similar that's why they loved him.

Players never forget that kind of thing nor do they forget being snubbed in the vain hope they might accept something else offered further down the line.  It's a Suhail, Waggot, Venky tactic that has failed time and time again..... or has it, from their point of view ..

Even for me it doesn’t feel like the club I supported for over fifty years. I went from watching Ronnie Clayton running out with the ball under his arm, to the Stewards invading the fans in the Darwen end to tackle the anti Kean protestors. If there was a turning point that was it. I just felt everything had changed. It wasn’t the club I’d grown up with.

It’s only my grandson that keeps me interested. I now think the Chicken Chokers will outlast me unfortunately but I’m pretty sure they won’t outlast him as he’s only 18. I desperately want to keep the love of Blackburn Rovers in my family. His dad only maintains a watching brief via the TV nowadays. I am away on holiday. This was our text conversation after last nights game -

Grandson  - “ That’ll teach me for going to midweek cup games “.

Me -  “ Yeah, anybody play well ? “

Grandson - “ Tavares my MOM,  Cantwell didn’t have a good game but you can still tell he’s a step above the rest “ “ Let’s hope Toth doesn’t get injured cos that Michalski is awful “. “ Travis off to Derby as well “.

Me - “ Mm, Birmingham up next. “

Grandson - “ Ticket already bought “.

Me - “ Good on you Luke, it won’t always be like this ! “

He’s a great kid, off to Uni this year and one of the reasons for the Uni he chose was so he could get over to watch Rovers.

Was he ever a "Best XI" guy. We had Short and Berg for most of his time with us, and Chirstian Dailly was the starting CB before Berg came back. Amoruso, Babbel and Zurab came in not long after.

I'd have Tiny in with Damien Johnson, Jonathan Douglas, John Buckley etc as guys who played and were "Bench" options, but can't say I ever think of him as a quote-on-quote "Starter".

I was watching both Trav and Tron last Saturday closely. On several occasions both players managed to intercept a pass and get half way in front of their immediate opponent. Common football sense says you  then run directly in front of your opponent. That way they either have to let you go or foul you, if you have reasonable pace that is. 
On nearly every occasion they were too slow to run in front and they then had the ball taken off them. This happened several times and I was really surprised at both players lack of pace. Are they being flogging in training ? I know 90% of players will train just as hard as they are made to. Most like an easy life.

God I'll have regressed that memory if he did.

Kenna, Grayson, Curtis, Neill would all be ahead of him in this scenario though? Wikipedia (I know) has him down for 88 appearances in 6 years - with 33 appearances in 2002/2003, so maybe he was more involved than I remember. Maybe he took over from Craig Short as he aged out?

Tiny is 45yrs old. Jesus.

He played RB in the Worthington Cup Final didn't he?

He was OK there but much better at CB.

Agreed, that cross was impressive. Maybe partly luck but he seemed to be in a blind alley and somehow lobbed it into a dangerous spot. His overall game did seem a bit less impressive than on his debut though, but he's not one I'm worried about as it stands.

Gueye has already did more for rovers than Leonard ever has

Our squad needed adding to last season. What position have we actually added to in this squad and not simply replaced outgoing players?

It's another pathetic, underfunded transfer window from whoever's in charge.

How is there only talk of needing one more incoming. It's terrifying stuff and shows a lack of ambition around the place.

Is there a domestic player Rovers are willing to pay a reasonable fee for?

In the mould of Brittain to Boro or Travis to Derby?

What the hell is happening to the club.

At least Suhail has a ready made excuse for various transfers falling through this time for the next FF Meeting.

"As far as we were aware" the deadline was still 11p.m.!
