Still not many but more than Gueye. Neither is MILES better than the other, both are pretty poor. You say goal instinct and touch of a centre half, Gueye plays with that too.Β I know you nailed your colours to the mast by eulogising over Gueye after 20 minutes of a friendly but he is not good enough. He summed himself up yesterday when he lacked the intelligence to even try and stay onside before blazing his finish over. If Gueye played as many minutes for Rovers as Gally did, heβd score double the goals and miss another 100. For the final time, Iβm not saying heβs a top player, but he does get chances every single time he plays and that alone makes home better than Gally.Β 6 Quote

The problem is is he varies from looking virtually unplayable as at West Brom under Lowe to looking like he's never seen a football before, there seems to be very little in-between with him, very few solid 7/10 performances. The key is unlocking the WBA version on a regular basis. That said if you could do that he probably wouldn't be here in the first place. Edit: Don't see much future for him under VI. VI seemingly doesn't rate him and Gueye knows it and has sort of sagged as a result. We can't let him go without a better replacement coming in though, we're already bereft of options up front. Not sure how he can jettison Leonard either really without giving him some sort of chance but that appears to be the way that ones going as well. Β I agree, I think he does have the attributes to be a decent player but he needs to play regularly to develop his game and he's simply not good enough to play regularly in the Championship right now. It's one of the toughest leagues in the world imo. Quote

Maybe some of the players believe that Travis has let them down and behaved in aΒ disrespectful manner to them and wanted to prove a point. Maybe Travis has let them down. But either way, my main point is about the total lack of professionalism that running a twitter account in that way. Or a PL youngster. Not the scenario I would want happen, but can see us bringing in someone on deadline day to fill the gap if the rumours of Gueye to Emirates are true.Β I'd take Dennis back if it's a cheap deal, I think he was poor last season but hasn't played much and there's a really good player there. Not sure if his attitute stinks or not, but Ismael will be the judge on that. Dennis can play out wide and upfront if needed too. We need to loan out Leonard in any case - he needs regular men's football, preferably in League One.Β Β Β I wouldnβt have Dennis back even if he offered to play for free. The guyβs a waster. 9 Quote

I would side with Gallagher out of the 2 but my point is that there isnt a big difference between the 2. One isnt miles better than the other. Both are poor. I also havent seen this large quantity of chances that Gueye has had and missed. Certainly doesnt happen in every game. 2 Quote

Loaning out Mafoumbi wouldnt have solved the problem initially because he would still be contracted with us. Would it not potentially work that Baradji is still contracted to Yverdon Sport?Β I suspect not and that he would indeed be taking our final spot. But worth an ask. Yeah even though its a loan he would still need a ESC spot here. If Mafoumbi had gone on loan to say Port Vale or something, he would take up a ESC spot both here and at Vale. 1 Quote

Very good going forward. Very reputable sources saying it's a done deal so I expect this one will happen. Looks like a real coup. Interesting that we're signing a left sided player when we're well covered on that side and it's never been mentioned that we're after a player in that position. It is needed though as De Neve and Hedges should be back up players. Β 3 Quote
Tugayisgod Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Have to say, for better or worse, this is the most interesting window I can remember in all my time watching Rovers (apart maybe from the early Uncle Jack era). Looks like a complete overhaul of the squad when most people were thinking about a bit of tinkering here and there. I realise certain circumstances have maybe forced the issue with players leaving but the complete change of policy to permanent signings rather than loans is in my opinion sensible. Sure, not all of these are going to come off, but if 75-80% are a success than the club has been vindicated in my eyes. Β 8 Quote
