What about the early days.. Chaos, discontent off the scale.. We've had some really, really bleak periods.. Worse, I would argue than now.. Just interested to know why not then and now has renewing a season ticket caused so much internal tension? Im genuinely surprised you're surprised. In the early days at least the owners were funding the Club. That stopped a couple of years ago and two top managers have walked out in the space of twelve months on the back of it. One of them to join a Club in the bottom 3. Since the early days we've also had prices being raised by up to 25% for a season where no one could attend during Covid, the aborted attempt to sell off Brockhall, and high profile transfers collapsing at the last minute on two successive January windows allegedly due to "administrative" errors. What's so difficult to understand? They finished me off even before all the recent shenanigans three seasons ago by failing to secure a play off place when it seemed inpossible not to. 4 Quote

Mattyblue Posted Friday at 10:03 Posted Friday at 10:03 Also, it was still all a bit novel in 2012, weird shit going on, but surely it wouldn’t last for ever (13 years later… yes, it will). 2 Quote

Maybe we stand alone as having supporters who delight in making inaccurate statements designed to show their club in a bad light. I was going to revert but having just read the posts from St Helens Rover and Mattyblue, I think the point have been well made. Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted Friday at 10:49 Posted Friday at 10:49 My mate and his son after much soul searching have decided not to give up their ST's but to switch from the BBE to the Riverside on account of the price increase. If a lot of people do that, the atmosphere will be horrific next year with the BBE more than half empty. Not sure how it'll help them hit Revenue targets either. But hey, who needs atmosphere and passion when the main aim is not to win football matches but develop and sell a few players? 5 Quote

I've no idea about season ticket sales, which is why I didn't address the point in my post. What I do know is that the statement in Penwortham Blue's post that our average attendance is down when they are up everywhere else is factually incorrect. Quote
Mattyblue Posted Friday at 11:26 Posted Friday at 11:26 His usual pedantic, contrarian self but then ignored my post, of course. Very simple, we have pretty much stayed static over 12 years as crowds have boomed across England to 1950s levels. 1 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted Friday at 11:37 Posted Friday at 11:37 I'm hearing just under 7,000 sold. Bolton shifted nigh on 15,000 on a similar timescale Quote
MarkBRFC Posted Friday at 11:42 Posted Friday at 11:42 Probably limp to around 7.5k if that is the case as not many more will be sold after the prices go up. Quote
Mattyblue Posted Friday at 11:44 Posted Friday at 11:44 Daft thing is they could actually get to last years total (amazingly) if they held prices now. Quote

MarkBRFC Posted Friday at 11:48 Posted Friday at 11:48 At least hold them for another month while there is still a very slight possibility of going up. 1 Quote
windymiller7 Posted Friday at 12:01 Posted Friday at 12:01 Well, I've caved in this morning. Feel like I've been forced into it which is an odd way to feel about it tbh. For the reasons in my previous post, I didn't want to end up cutting my nose off to spite my face. I hate this regime! Now, come on Rovers, I've a big birthday next Thursday let's celebrate it with a 1st leg home play off victory! (Long shot I know - just hope the missus hasn't got anything planned! 😄) 3 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted Friday at 12:22 Moderation Lead Posted Friday at 12:22 I have renewed this morning, mostly for the social side, tbf. I pay by direct debit and noticed by monthly payment is £5 per month more than it was last season. Quote

Leeds, PNE and Burnley that's 18k away supporters right there before we chuck in the Sheffield teams and Sunderland. Doubt the actual home fan average is much different than usual. Quote

If there is any nous whatsoever in that building they'd do that as if we did get into the play offs there's an outside chance of Prem footy for Championship prices. They'd shift a few more on the back of that, might even hit the magic 10k figure but no these lot would rather scrape another thousand at a higher price point. Quote
Mattyblue Posted Friday at 13:15 Posted Friday at 13:15 Exactly, keep the prices as is and this run out of nowhere could have against all odds see them announce a bigger take up than we’ve seen in years… one in the eye for us rabble rousers - but like you say they’d rather whack them up and pocket the extra dosh from a trickle of purchasers to August instead. 1 Quote
SpaceBarSlam Posted Friday at 13:54 Posted Friday at 13:54 We've buckled after umm-ing and ahh-ing and decided to renew. Despite being on my network, it won't let me renew my dad's season ticket. Does anybody have any advice? Queue to ring the ticket helpline is 10 people long. Quote

We are indeed on our own. We were always renewing, no soul searching went on, just left it until the last minute as usual. To be honest, I haven't come across one person who hasn't renewed, except on here. Heard of 8 renewals this morning from 3 different groups who've renewed in the last 24 hours. 3 Quote

I know one fan who isn't renewing but that down to him missing most games this season with health issues. I wish him all the best and hopefully he gets back better 2 Quote
