Our fixtures are released next Thursday (26/7).

Premier League fixtures are released today, with the dingles being in there we should have a good idea today as to whether we will be home or away on the opening, last, boxing day etc.

Away boxing day and home on the final day going off there fixtures.

Looking at their games it appears that there are no Boxing Day or NYD fixtures in the Premier League.

The fixture list will be absolutely butchered for TV before long.

Wouldn't surprise me if some of those fixtures on the 27th December were moved to boxing day for TV coverage, and some to Sunday the 28th too.

Then that could have a knock on affect for the games on the 30th December to move a day or two and end up on NYD which is a Thursday, and then some Saturday 3rd Jan fixtures moved to the Sunday etc.

Be interesting to see what the Championship schedule is over Christmas.

I could see 26th, 29th December, 1st and 4th January for the games.

They are subject to change but why didn't they just arrange the programme for Boxing Day and then give the 'subject to change' line (which all fixtures are anyway).

Yeah it is odd that they haven't scheduled anything in for boxing day to be fair.

Can't be a time where that has happened before.

The Premier League have said there being no Boxing Day games is due to their commitment to give players more time between matches during the festive period - but they added that games can be moved to Boxing Day for TV.

He who pays the piper calls the tune.

You would expect 3 games moved from the Saturday to Boxing day for PL teams, 12.30, 5pm and 8pm kick off.

So its looks like Rovers will be away first game. Wouldn't mind Derby away or Stoke away. Expect Southampton or Charlton away

I wouldn't mind Leicester or Wrexham at home first game at all.

Yep, defo need to rest on an age old football day like Boxing Day considering all the commitments players have like playing in empty grounds in the US in June and post season tours to Hong Kong…

So fans can't have their traditional boxing day fixtures because the big clubs have cried to the EPL bosses about over working their bloated over paid squads.

Unless of course the TV selects a few tasty fixture to be played on that day, no questions asked.

The Prem is the land of milk and honey and you have to have something to play for but inn reality it stinks.

Cue the wails of '...but that's the modern game...' from those amongst us who also see no issue with all manner of random kick off times, because they can get to every home game no matter what.

The ‘rest’ excuse doesn’t even make any sense.

There’s a round of fixtures the weekend of the 20/21st, weekend of the 27th but also midweeks on the 30th. So what difference does it make if they play on the 27th instead of the 26th? Indeed you could make the argument that playing on the 26th would actually be better for rest periods between games.

It’s obviously a TV scheduling decision hiding behind welfare.

Who’s going to post the traditional “I’ve heard our opening day fixture is…..” on Wednesday? None of those rumours have ever been right in 25 years of internet messageboards.

Only rumour I have heard is we will play each team once at home and once away.

Hope we get a 'gentle start' to give us a chance to get some points on board.

A tough start with few if any points may well be difficult to recover from.

With our player trading so far and no contract renewals on our key players, difficult to have any confidence.

I hope we have a tough start, and get loads of points.

Premier League updated their tv selection date section as soon as they released the fixtures last week:

https://www.premierleague.com/news/4324684

Hopefully EFL do it as well, showing this still:

https://www.efl.com/how-to-watch/tv-game-selection-process/

This is what it was last season, article from July 6th 2024:

TV Change Dates for EFL Championship

  • Games August 9 to September 29: Already done.
  • Games October 1 to January 11: Prior to the start of the 2024-25 season, which is August 9. This is the really big change in EFL tv dates for the 2024-25 season.

For the rest of the season, they don’t guarantee these dates, but they are subject to a minimum notice — usually four weeks until the last two weeks of the season.

  • Games January 18 to January 25: December 18, 2024.
  • Games February 1 to 12: January 1, 2025.
  • Games February 22: January 22, 2025.
  • Games March 1: February 1, 2o25.
  • Games of March 8: February 8, 2025.
  • Games of March 11-15: February 11, 2025.
  • Games from March 29: March 1, 2025.
  • Games from April 5-9: March 5, 2025.
  • Games of April 12: March 12, 2025.
  • Games of April 18-21: March 18, 2025.
  • Games of April 26: March 26, 2025.
  • Games of May 3: April 3, 2025. This is the last day of the season, so all games will be at the same time. The announcement is simply which ones will be broadcast.

Anyone any idea if all EFL Fixtures are live on the opening weekend as well?

https://www.efl.com/news/2024/june/26/watch-every-game-on-the-opening-day-of-the-2024-25-season/

Were last season, had forgotten about that. 12:30 Saturday away could be a possibility to start with?

Yeah the TV deal is still the same so all first day, last day, midweek and bank holiday games will be live.

That means no Saturday 3pm kick offs for the opening day for the Championship.
