the fans can’t keep blaming the referees aswell, the refs can’t put the ball in the net for us… Even with a good ref we lose that game.

I talk about this with the players I coach all the time. You have to take ownership of your own role in mistakes. Refs don’t miss chances, they don’t let goals in, etc. We lost yesterdays game because they completely dominated the first half, the sending off is a result of that domination. Second half we cost ourselves with our inability to hit the net/ lack of quality in final pass

Home fan turnout c1,000 down on what we had for the second home game of last season.

Almost as if downgrading the squad again as well as downgrading the matchday experience whilst also trying to rinse people for every penny they have makes them gote with their feet.

Another extremely frustrating afternoon.

Turned on McLoughlin misjudging a bouncing ball that should have been dispatched over the Riverside and our attack failing to punish the slowest defence to visit Ewood in years.

Kargbo is either injured or he has lost his pace completely since the start of the season.

Gueye has been flagged offside more often than he has had legitimate touches this season...

Second half Norwich eased off and the 441 of Rovers had more than enough chances to punish them.

Positives are Hedges continuing to play well and Cantwell again applying himself and looking class. Ryoyo brief cameo was promising and enough to get him a start ahead of Kargbo. Toth continues to look secure.

Shame Ohashi drive from his own half drifted wide in the wind...

Apart from one baffling decision late in the second half thought we finally had an ok ref officiating irrespective of what Rovers TV rabbited on about.

I'm talking about Ismael and what has gone on in this window. It's the biggest upheaval in a squad and he can't be blamed for it.

Why can’t he be blamed for it?

Yeah, he's quite happily gone along with the plan to put a match to last season's side which finished 7th and replace most of the best players.

If it doesn't work, he's as much to blame as anyone else.

Travares is a steady eddy, not going to set the world alight...Everyone was poor today so not judging many on today's performance.

I really don't see anything- looks lazy and reluctant or unable to make a tackle.. I'm happy to judge him based off his performances thus far and I see no stand-out attributes.. Bloody hope we sign Browne!

I dont rate Kargbo but to be fair against Hull it appeared his leg was very heavily strapped up.

If he isn't fit, he shouldn't be playing. Only going to make the injury worse.

Just got back.  Piss poor performance.  Lowlights today:

Tavares - said it since the first time I saw him and he’s done nothing to change my opinion - far too laid back and casual.  Every pass is 5 yards too short or too far.  Anyone who thinks he’s an upgrade on Travis needs to give their head a wobble.  Says everything about him that we were better when he wasn’t in the pitch.

Kargbo - had an absolute stinker today.  Shouldn’t be starting games IMO but our squad has been weakened so much this is where we are.  Maybe useful as an off the bench option but other than that clueless.  Can run fast and that’s about it.

Ribeiro - total shocker of a game, way below his usual standards.  Needs a rocket up his arse.

McLoughlin - nailed on foul, pen and red card.  Brainless decision to do what he did.

Gueye - loveable but thick as fuck. Needs to be spend the next weeks learning what offside is and how to avoid being it.

Everyone else was bang average as well.  Where was the pressing, fight and energy from the Hull game?  We reverted back to the shite performances of the WBA and Brum games.

Only person to come out of that with any credit was Alebiosu.

It’s gonna be a long hard season folks.  You don’t lose all that Championship experience and replace it with cheapo foreigners without it having a negative impact, and this is being borne out right in front of us.

Tbf I thought tronstad was exceptional in the second half.

Add to the first game that's at least another 3k paying customers they've managed to lose over the two games combined.

Never mind, the prices rises covered that !

Yeah but what about revenues?

One look at the Blackburn End should set alarm bells ringing in the directors box after their needless price hike there but I think Yasir is just about to collect his bonus for increasing revenues off it.

I said exactly the same about Kargbo, what's up with him, looks like his pace has got up and gone...

Agree with all the rest, great analysis

I’m going to keep the cantwell train going here. I thought he was the standout player today. Worked his nuts off with out the ball and seemed to be everywhere in my opinion. Proper skippers performance. Gets a lot of plaudits with the ball for his technical play, but without it he didn’t shy away with not putting a shift in. Keep it up skip

Yeah..first out the door if suitors come knocking in January.

It does appear they finally have their man.

I expect he has very little say in anything other than taking training and taking charge of the matchday team.

Nor that he particularly cares.

It certainly sounds like the Travis situation was dropped on us very quickly,

Joking aren't you?' Had months if not years to sort out a b new contract for Travis. Wanted him off the list to save money and for him to get the blame.

I was quoting goozeburger. My view is the same as yours (and have been saying so over the last few weeks.)

Actually thought Cantwell was poor yesterday. The number of times he tried tackling on the wrong side of the Norwich players was alarming although he was far from the worst Rovers player.

Kargbo is just poor, full stop. The new Japanese player looks more light weight than Ohashi. Tavares needs to get to the pace of the championship. Wharton and McLoughlin both too slow.

Gueye isn't the only player who does not understand the offside rule as Ohashi also likes to stray. The attacking ball from midfield is usually released that split second too slow, I could go on.

It is a sad review that finishes with the words 'IMO Ryan Hedges was our best player'

His agent , won't be bothered one bit !

I am sure all his agents are delighted. Agents Pasha, Gestede and Owen, along their friends behind the scenes, obviously think it is a great idea to sign an injured player

I will only say that whatever is going on at Rovers is clearly toxic. I don't think Ismael has anything to do with that, but I it does seem to me as though he has been frank with the supporters. I think that deserves some credit.

@RevidgeBlue says Ismael has had 14 games, which is true (give or take, I haven't counted), but I was referring to the new players having only had four league games to gel when I said "they". Everyone has their own threshold, but 4 games is still too early for me to solidify any sort of final judgment. They deserve a bit of time to settle in, and we need this window closed so we can move on from another chaotic transfer window.

I'm not over-enamoured with Ismael in terms of results. At the same time, I can see from here that he's in the midst of a squad upheaval. Yes. I know. We've had transitional periods, turmoil, and whatnot since day 1 of the Venky's. They are poor custodians on that front, and it goes without saying. The only way that we (the supporters) will ever get to a point of being united and happy again is if they sell up and we're run by, let's say, normal people who get involved and show some form of care or passion.

On transfers, even if we have been signing younger players from abroad, we have at least been proactive and done our business quite quickly. That can't be said too much of transfer windows gone by. The jury will obviously be out on all players (and my take is that they deserve more than just four league games), but with our budget and losses, surely everyone can see that we can't just splurge every player sale back onto other players. The numbers just won't add up.

Anyway, that's my brief take. I've got a bit more patience in the tank, but Ismael certainly needs to turn results around on the pitch, that's for sure.

Sides will be licking there lips playing against a midfield with Sidnei Tavares in it this season.

Funniest thing I have read/heard in ages that he's an upgrade on Travis.

Indeed. This Baradji lad better be good and have the ability get fit.

That being said, CM is the one area where a lack of Championship pedigree will bite us on the arse big time. IMO.
