Torgeir Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The most logical thing would be that Dønnum, Jørgensen and Cleary were all targets with Cleary main target as the cheaper and youngest option, until Barnsley negotiated their way out of the dealings. Then Rovers focused on Jørgensen and landed him. The white smoke tweet from Nixon possibly alluded to there being some different opionions on who we should sign, maybe it was Ismael who got his way this time? Quote

But with that being said I would say he dresses quite normal compared to the French National team: Quote

I know Donnum has played rwb a bit but I suspect doing it in France is a bit different to how ridiculously physical and draining the Championship is. Few players can. Hedges being able to convert into is quite rare as he is very athletic. Id hate for us to sign a player to play a role, find out they cant do it, and then be unsure what to do with them. Quote
alex l Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Or if he was intending to sign, especially a permanent transfer, that he'd bring his car over. I seem to remember Lewis Holtby not flying, it isn't the only option especially when there is time to go in the window. Quote

Yeah and leaving a club 8th in Ligue 1 which you are starting for, to move to 20th in Championship? That makes no sense. 3 Quote

roversfan99 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Its funny how Elliott Jackson on a day he bigged up the time he spent putting his articles together. Literally just removed the article on Donnum and the sentence at the end of the Jorgensen article, and just hasnt said anything else as if he hopes people wont notice. 4 Quote
Tim Southampton Rover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm not sure what the situation is with Aron Dønnum but if that was a red herring to either a) keep the Mathias Jorgensen transfer quiet or b) to flush out leaks then I will give credit to the club. Over the years we've had players taken off us at the last minute by other clubs and we've seen club leaks come back and bite us too. This shouldn't happen at Blackburn. Whether we dislike the owners/management or or not, we want the club to be run professionally and in the correct way, so if this was the case then fair play. 1 Quote

He'll come out and say something on his podcast when he's clear on it, he likely made a mistake like everyone does. Theres not any point putting anything out there till you are 100% on it as why risk being wrong again. For me he does a decent job in difficult circumstances. Certainly prefer his output than many of his critics (not all!) on this board. 5 Quote

Popular Post B16Rover Posted 1 hour ago Popular Post Posted 1 hour ago Glimt-fan here. In case you want my take/some context on him: A bit surprised, all of us. Most players that sign for us take a bit of time to get up to speed with the high intensity in training, and tend to get some knocks and injuries in the beginning. He's looked sharper towards the end of autumn, and was expected to be able to challenge for the starting position at right wing for us this season. His pre-season (if you can call the two weeks break the team has had since December, with training and two friendlies now in January) has been very good and he's looked more familiar with the system and style of the team. The rumored price (3,3 million) is really low for a player that would be playing in a good team in Europa League/Champions League in the 2026/2027-season. I'd say he's a versatile attacking player, but definitely at his best when he gets to run in behind the full-backs. He's decent at dribling, finding teammates in scoring positions, and finishing. He's got the potential to be a very high scoring winger, as he seems to sniff out where the ball will land in the box, and get it over the line. I'd say he fits the best in a 4-3-3 winger type role, or as a duo up-front with another attacker to combine with. As a person, he's completely no drama. Very serious, well-liked, a typical captain/vice-captain. Family oriented and someone who trains with intention. Us fans are very surprised as to why this transfer is happening right now, a week before we play Man City. Wish him and you the best of luck. 11 1 Quote

Perhaps even storing it in Manchester area where his now pregnant wife lives and plays for Manchester united 1 Quote
TommyRovers Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Dønnum has a home of some sort in the north west because his wife plays for United. Its a baffling story. Maybe a Odemwingie situation haha Quote

davulsukur Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Always seemed too good to be true that we were signing both Jorgensen and Donnum. Quote

I think it’s damning that he said he didn’t have a name and a few minutes later he had the exclusive. How much verification did he do? Seems to (only) have the same source as the RoverXtra account these days. Vaguely recall that he made a mistake on one of the recent deadline days by declaring Rovers’ business was done only for another signing to be announced (Forshaw I think). Comes across as very likeable on his podcast and has been treated awfully by the club though. 1 Quote

I feel like EJ is getting judged a bit harshly. His accuracy is better than most “ITK” types. Even if he’s got this one wrong (I guess we'll find out today?), nothing is confirmed until the contract is signed and the club makes it official. With plenty of people involved in transfers and football, it only takes a couple of trusted people to get the wrong info for it to spiral out of control - especially when news is breaking fast. Let's not think everyone involved in football is innocent. Trusted sources can be told lies from agents, managers, owners because they might have an agenda. Journalists aren't in the room where the most private conversations happen so they may need to rely on leaks and sources. If it isn't right, from what I've read, the LT has removed the article or sentence from an article. If they now believe it isn't happening then at least they're removing potential false information. 3 Quote
