Can we stop using the word firing - he wasn't. Mutual consent conveniently... hence no pay out. Don't give them that credit.

Yes but mutual consent also probably means we are going to keep paying his salary until he finds a new employer, why else would he agree, especially if he has signed a NDA too.

It means they have come to an agreement about the terms & extent of his pay off.

Ismael has not just said "you know what, I am crap, I will leave without a pay out of any kind"

Rovers' Deadline Day Betting:

4/6 - Alebiosu to be sold with less than an hour of the window remaining
EVENS - Ismael to leave the club within a week of the window closing
2/1 - Rovers to make a ridiculously low offer for a player that they've no intention of signing
5/1 - Rovers to somehow miss out on a player due to an admin error
16/1 - Rovers to sign a player that I've actually heard of

Well that's one down....

Go for Ballard from Orient. Stockport are chasing play offs so more likely to want to keep players. Orient are well out of that race

If they have looked at Wootton you would imagine Ballard is also under consideration

Now what? It's deadline day...New excuse not to sign any new players until a new manager is in place.

Transfer budget spent on Dismael's compensation. Also a great distraction from not signing a striker. Are we surprised?

Bullshit he's not for sale, he's 29 years old and it's likely his value will lower.

We'll have offered peanuts at a time when it would be difficult to replace him more like.

Not that I expect it to happen, but given Watford's manager has left, and Watford have a liking for re-employing old managers... is there any chance Ismael is off there to take them down instead of us?

Who's going to want to come here when they don't even know if the new manager will want them?

Given its Rudy, & not the manager doing the buying, that would still potentially be an issue for any player signed by Rudy et al, even if Ismael was still in situ

Correct

Brilliant move by the club on deadline day to deflect from lack of signings

From the LT:

A reminder that the deadline shuts at 7pm tonight but clubs can now submit dealsheets for the first time. That allows a further two hours to complete the necessary paperwork. Something Rovers could've certainly done with in the last few years...

Erm hasn't this already been the case for at least last season and I think the season before?

Wasn't there something about Ismael having a clause in his contract after a few months ??

Maybe it was 12 months , mutual consent ? You cannot believe a word the club says but it seems convenient on deadline day !

No, deal sheets submitted between 17:00 and 18:59 allow a 2 hour grace period to finalise smaller aspects of the deal. Prior it was all paperwork needed to be submitted. Always been a thing in the prem and now officially the EFL.

Former Rovers loanee Andy Moran apparently signing for Preston for £1M

Of all the players that existed, he is one of them.

I honestly can’t remember anything he did here

He was very good v Cardiff in an early season league cup tie, then did next to nothing for the rest of his stay.  Seemed like very much a fair weather player
