But (the biggest of ifs) if we can replace him with a fairly solid youngster on loan full of running, and a striker that knows where the net is, then we might not be worse off. We desperately need some pace combined with skill in our team. Imagine it'll be the cheapest PL loan available when we sell Alebiosu, unfortunately. Wouldn't mind if they went in for Bali Mumba, always looked a good player when i've watched him... they won't though! Quote
rob_of_the_rovers Posted yesterday at 09:09 Posted yesterday at 09:09 So this is the plan? Buy up cheap punts from around Europe, sell the good ones after six months and leave us with the dregs? 3 Quote

Popular Post roverblue Posted yesterday at 09:15 Popular Post Posted yesterday at 09:15 I don't think there is a plan to be honest. We recruited for a back 4 in summer then after poor results stumbled into a back 5. We have hobbled on for 10-15 game without the squad for it and will now likely recruit for a back 5. However results with this have been crap so imagine it gets ditched at some point and we then need to recruit for a back 4 again in summer. The whole setup is clueless. 11 Quote

Do I recall Aberdeen offering to take him on loan? But only if Rovers carried on paying his wage, and with no loan fee involved? That being said, they have just sacked their manager. maybe he brought that up as an idea again, and that was the final straw? 😉 Edited yesterday at 09:21 by KentExile Quote

And Eustace is rumoured to want him so we've no chance anyway. Perhaps Blackburn Rovers should by now have sourced, signed and paid for a replacement. 1 Quote

Yes despite the previous success stories of Rhodes, Graham, Armstrong and Sammie they've binned off the only thing they've gotten right at first team level in favour of a 3 for the price of 1 model. And we are paying the price. 2 Quote

I know he was booed off when subbed recently and judging by the comments they aren't too impressed with him down there. Gallagher is now available so surely Eustaces ex Rovers obsession will see him at Derby soon.... 🙂 Edited yesterday at 10:31 by Tomphil2 Quote

RoversClitheroe Posted yesterday at 10:55 Posted yesterday at 10:55 I think Brereton was a really bad footballer. Benefitted from a change in name as well as confidence from such an amazing story. Seems however he has gone back to the pre Diaz era 1 Quote

He's looked unfit every game he's come on, and must be a bad egg in the dressing room environment too. Who would take him? Quote

RoversClitheroe Posted yesterday at 11:27 Posted yesterday at 11:27 Absolute silence from the club. I thought we were told they had planned and been proactive? They can bid for players pre January, so unsure how we haven't signed anyone yet at the managers request. 5 days to make 3 signings that improve the squad. Relegation beckons. 2 Quote

We need to get this out of our heads, that getting fees in, is a good thing. No matter what we bring in from sales, it does not affect the transfer budget for signings, it merely means, the owners have to pay less to keep the lights on. It is a sad fact of life, but that is exactly where we are. 17 Quote
JHRover Posted yesterday at 11:49 Posted yesterday at 11:49 Indeed. Lets suppose there's truth to this Alebiosu-Everton rumour and it happens. That immediate profit and success will override any results or performances we've had this season. Gestede will be able to point to that alone and state to the owners/finance people that he's delivered on his project, with Gudjonsen to come next. The fact that results have been appalling, most performances have been appalling, crowds collapsing further, and our Championship status is in danger are irrelevant. 3 Quote
