It's embarrassing, but this kind of thing is needed to bring the spotlight on to the issues here. The bigger picture and aim is getting the club out of this lot's clutches. I hate the regime, not my club. Understand this, Rudy. This is a 15 year problem. You and Yasir are not the problem, for me. This isn't about either of you. This club does not recover nor succeed, until Pasha and Venky's have gone. The sporting media needs to ask a simple question tonight: "Why were Blackburn Rovers able to play in torrential rain at Ewood Park for many years during the Premier League era, without a problem, but now have to call games off?". Utterly embarrassing, but a fitting summary of this 15 year circus. I think ALL Rovers fans would welcome an FA investigation. Enough is Enough. 5 Quote

Elrovers Posted Saturday at 17:46 Author Posted Saturday at 17:46 I wonder what Ismael and the players think about this. Can’t wait to hear his “post” match interview. Surely he has to blame the club. Quote
alex l Posted Saturday at 17:49 Posted Saturday at 17:49 We need to take a philosophical approach. 'if a goal is scored at ewood, but it's raining, will the goal count for anything?' 2 Quote
Popular Post Riverside under the drip Posted Saturday at 17:50 Popular Post Posted Saturday at 17:50 Hand on heart, I would give anything to trade places with Wednesday, -10 and all. They are free to heal and to succeed as a great name in football once more. They will be in the Premier League before us. There's a particularly gormless sounding old man near us who was chanting 'Going down' at them as they sang and enjoyed supporting THEIR club. All around was silence. 21 Quote

Potentially use Salford City Red’s ground given they’ve gone bump, its owners would be happy for the income. As you say, of all of those I think Wigan is the only viable option really. You have to be careful to not go too far away that the fans walk en-masse and won't drive an hour to Salford. If that happens, there's no income from tickets and the club folds - like Wimbledon FC. Agree with all the stuff on the waterlogged pitch/Vs etc. Just on a different tack and the game. How on earth did they not score in the first minute of the second half? (Good save from Pears but their player should have squared it for a tap in.) And more generally, why didn't either side just get the ball in from corners -woeful. All around was silence. Unfortunately a sizeable percentage of the match going crowd at Ewood are either totally oblivious or in denial as to the severity of the mess this club is in. That bloke being one of them. This club is in a dire, dire state and yet sadly the head in sand brigade continue to tell themselves all is well because we get to watch the lads every other week on Ewood. The way things are going that might not be able to continue much longer. If Ewood is no longer functional as a football venue during wet periods we will struggle to fulfil our fixture commitments. I'm looking forward to the lies and blame game that will come from the club stooges over the coming days. Ismael and the players deserve better but he needs to speak out rather than defend the regime. Last time they gave a microphone to groundsman Trevor to talk us through it all. I doubt they'll get away with a similar stunt this time around. 5 Quote

Surely he has to blame the club. There can't be a 'post match' interview, technically, as the fixture will be declared null and void and will take place on another day, once the FA wake up and use the recent precedent as their measure. FWIW VI stomped off down the tunnel a long time before the ref got anywhere close to his final decision. It was clear from the ref's body language at the outset that there had to be a dramatic change in the prevailing conditions in order for there to be anything other than an abandonment. Those parasitic morons in Pune. I curse the day they were conceived - odious endeavours indeed. Currs and mongrels the lot of them, attended by sycophants and scoundrels. They are about as fit and proper as owners as Nicolae Ceaușescu was a philanthropist. Scum needs to skim off back to its scurrilous roots and divest. 2 Quote
Andy Posted Saturday at 17:55 Posted Saturday at 17:55 We are run by absolute amateurs and people who are not qualified to be in the senior positions that they are in. It's inevitable that things like this will happen - and continue to happen the longer this carries on. 8 Quote
Popular Post AspRover Posted Saturday at 17:56 Popular Post Posted Saturday at 17:56 Championship Reddit just has many photos of Ismael holding up pictures of clouds. I think that after fifteen odd years some fans of other clubs are beginning to twig that our situation might not be normal. 12 Quote

Fine the owners. We did see venkys capital investments but those rollers did nothing. Pathetic. Tuesdays game must be off no way ground will recover with more continuous rain. It's been pretty apocalyptic the rain today, make no mistake. You'd expect Sunday league in the park to be squelching around in mud and called off However, it's the Championship, this is supposed to be one of the top 40 football venues in England. PNE, Fylde and Accy managed to play. In the vicinity without issue. Further afield City and Everton played too! It's a recurring pattern now, it's not happenstance! The drainage needs renewing and maybe covers too. It's as simple as that. Quote
