Isn't that down to the ref? Don't know what time they make a decision.

Heavy rain forcast from 1 in the morning tonight until 1pm tomorrow. If that plays out, then all tomorrow afternoon for it to dry out. Who knows?

They (along with the EFL) could at least let fans know plans then? E.g. times of pitch checks and times of updates.

2pm for a 3pm kick off for one home match -can't recall who we were playing. Was just getting out of the car.

About the funds from transfers. It is a smart move - we all know fuck all will be spent on transfers but it puts the pressure on the owners/bosses that the head coach is willing to sacrifice whatever bullshit pipedream is paraded before the inevitable "fax machine failure"...

It is also sends a subtle message that this club is run so badly run operationally that the ludicrous notion of transfer fees being used on basic maintenance is required. Rebuilding a stadium/stand - fair enough but the pitch!!

Rev, coming round to your pov. A good rant from Vi but gives the Head ofs a nice excuse for no spend in January and beyond.

It suppose it all depends whether there was ever a January pot available in the first place.

If there was then you're robbing Peter to pay Paul and VI should have none of it.

If there wasn't then I suppose you could say it's a clever ploy by him to put pressure on them to spend money on the pitch by him pretending he's being reasonable.

Overall I still think he should be condemning the situation with the pitch without offering to sacrifice transfer budgets in return.

We've seen it all before. It all smacks to a bit to me of Broughton coming out and justifiably or otherwise taking responsibility for various cock ups behind the scenes without there being any actual recriminations for him.

Here it seems to me like they've spent some time  agreeing their response behind the scenes in advance and he's come out pretending to be annoyed but then suggesting a solution which is no actual skin off their nose.

Either that or he doesn't want to be blamed with anything to do with the pitch but doesn't want to upset them enough to lose his job either.

Pitch Inspection 2pm tomorrow.

Forecast has the rain starting to fizzle out then 40% chance  and continuing to reduce further up to kick off. They'll probably call it off at 2pm and then by kick off it will be perfectly playable

If we get another called off I'll be amazed if the EFL don't begin the punishments. It's an absolute farce and completely preventable.

If the game goes ahead, Oxford have a bit of fight about them and we generally struggle with that. With the cancellation at the weekend an Oxford win will rope us in so this is a must-win for me. However, I doubt we will.

You'd have thought everyone from the Oxford end would be well on the way by then.

Their coaches are scheduled to leave at 2pm.

Are grounds staff saying no point on 10am pitch inspection because looking at heavy rain forecast it will be called off but by 2pm onwards water will drain away to become playable??

That interview from val is class to be fair to him he’s gone for the “head ofs”, that comment alone makes me know full well he thinks it’s a fucking shit show but it pays his mortgage. Clubs a fucking disgrace.

How far do you think Oxford is? 🤣

2pm is probably the worst possible time to do an inspection if you want the game to be on, that's pretty much around when it's forecast to stop. I understand why that's the designated time, but I'd be very surprised if its on. Hours later it would probably be fine like....
