Why waste money on terrible players like De Neve, Tavares and Henriksson when our academy is surely producing footballers that are far better? Is it just so that we're seen to be "spending" to "improve" the team rather than the perception being that we're selling senior players and replacing them with academy players?

Pretty much. He's scored 7 goals before Christmas in a struggling team.

I wish he'd win more headers as a target man, but I can't really complain about the output. He's a goal scoring striker.

Part of me does wonder how Leonard would do in Gudjonson's role. The 352 really helps a non physical striker, and Leonard never got the luxury of playing in a two unfortunately.

Id we were still in 4231 i think Gudjonsen would really struggle.

baradji was very impressive when he came on,must be nearing a start

henrikson, deneve and sidnei need ******** off,as illustrated in past few weeks, our academy players are better than all three

Thought Henrikson did a good job when he came on, albeit  a lot of it without the ball. Might be an option in the future rather than Gueye.

still of that opinion post match?

I would say how is Millwall and PNE squads got the quality to be top 6 before today's game?

Today we did well to get the result. Was a poor quality game but a comfortable win.

But in general, yes. We are still near the bottom of the table. The squad is so stretched with very little quality.

I'm glad I saved my £30 odd quid. But a great result, well done lads.

probably  a wise decision, millwall were in christmas gift mode  otherwise it would have gone down a terrible 0-0,though on the plus side, they did`nt look like ever scoring, lovely to have 3 points in the bag

I'd like a fit Leonard on the bench to come on when Gudjohnsen or Ohashi tire (or start in their absence). Only problem is that, for whatever reason, whilst at Rovers i don't remember him being fit any length of time and never really got up to speed with "senior" football from what i saw on the few occasions he played.

Tough one - don't think Posh would have gone along with a deal in our favour that would have allowed him to come back here if he did well.

I would think one would lead to the other. IE being at the academy from such a young age, he would automatically be a Rovers fan.

or being born and brought up in Blackburn, as a Blackburn fan, means you go the to local Rovers academy

I doubt many, if any, five to six year old boys are actual fans of a specific club.

He’s from Great Harwood

Can you imagine the repsonse on here if Rovers didn't spend money on those we and said we bringing through a couple of academy players instead, it was carnage on here.

Given Millwall are top 6 before this game, we deny them much quality in their game and force Neil into a tactical change to match us. We provided the moments of quality. I expect much better from Millwall but we never witness that

Rovers managed the game and second half we stopped them and was pragmatic in approach.

Who cares if it’s ’carnage on here’. There was ‘carnage’ anyway because the likes of De Neve are crap. You play good footballers whatever the route to the first team. It’s the job of those down there to make judgements on players not give a feck what Rovers Lad75 on a forum thinks.

We did well today. I read earlier in the week that Millwall have looked tired lately and have had issues with central midfielders in particular. Neil wasnt happy with their application today based on his post match interview. But we still took advantage and won comfortably.

But the squad is still a state overall.

Henriksson didnt do anything when he came on really. He isnt up to standard. We need 2 more strikers because Ohashi and Gudjohnsen are being run into the ground.

Not read or watched Neil interview but Neil is bang on there. Their players didn't look up for it

Yes we need some signings in January but I am pleased that we witness Litherland play today and so well. Pratt also good.

I thought he did better job there than Gueye would have done. He chase well, a couple of good link up, look better there than deeper. Not saying its his long term role but can do a job.

He was injured, holding the back of his leg, that's why he came off.

How many times have you heard, he works hard but doesn't score goals?

There aren't many 6 yard box players about,he's our most important player.

He’s a finisher, simple as that really.
