Technically you can make that point but mentally and attitude, he’s last on my team sheet.

If I had to pick one player to keep from that 11, it’s tronstad all day.

Cantwell has been the quality player we expected him to be for most of this season, like everyone else, he’s surrounded by dross, has no manager and all that is bound to have an impact.

The same old story, we clung on for dear life at times, with a slender 1-0 lead, and it took a defender to win the game. Please Rovers, learn to win a game more comfortably.

a terrible game by two terrible sides (at least sheff wed have an excuse),though im`e glad of 3 points

first impresion of jorgensen is he`s ****** lightweight, seriously lightweight, the sheff wed centre could have brought his armchair, hopefully he`ll get better when he gets used to the english game

Of all the shit decisions that Ismael made, making Cantwell captain is right up there for me.

To be fair everyone was hailing it as an Ismael masterstroke earlier on in the season.

I thought Cantwell was much improved at that point on last season but I have to say that following his return from a mysterious 2 month absence for a "kick on the knee" he's gone back to what he was like last season.

An absolute waste of space.

Awful performance . Everything is so laboured and dull.

Why we're playing a centre half at left back when we've two solid left backs. Pickering also has shown he's useful at set pieces AND he's actually our own player.

Not sure of Morishitas best position.  Could imagine,  a bit like Emerton, him being more effective coming from deep in a wing back role..

Cantwell,  never seen anything in him.

Agree regarding Joseph. Give him a go.

Rather see Atcheson play over Mclouglin

Obviously the important thing was the victory. But it was an almost certainty considering that Sheffield Wednesday are not a competitive team, hence this being their 8th successive defeat without a goal. They needed something off the bench and could only bring on random kids. But performance wise, I thought we were really poor and overall it was a dismal night of football on the eye.

The team selection was strange, whether it was Johnson, Gestede or a team already selected and prepared for by Ismael. Also thought he took too long with subs. De Neve is clearly not a footballer, and was obviously a waste of time. Jorgensen looks really poor too, offers nothing. Really weak, slow, and when given half a chance comes up short.

Cantwell was absolutely dreadful, did very well to last the full game. Baradji is a strange player, at times doing really good things, at times being a liability.

Tronstad was by far our best player, should have been man of the match. Good to see Carter do an hour, signs of rust but he starts in our best team if only he wasnt made of glass. Cashin again did well.

Also, our set piece coach needs binning.

Not the games I've watched.  He's been anonymous at best these past few months

I agree he has the quality.

Im just saying he ain’t performing to it.

He is also a poor captain. I don’t think anyone with a straight face can argue against that.

I'm not sure if it was that well received? Tronstad is right there (yes, I know my audience and I know he's off at the end of the year).

I'd rather he didn't play next game but we're backed into a corner now.

Cantwell is an 'If' player -

If we can find a position for him

If it's in the right formation

If we can protect him

If he can find some form

If he can forge a partnership

If he stays fit

Then he'll be a big, big player for us.

Needs everything on a plate. Szmodics or Dack didn't do 'If', just made it happen.

Re. Cantwell, he created and had Gudjohnsen put his flick away, he'd be getting more praise.

He'll occasionally be frustrating but also provide some magic or break momentum and win fouls.

Him baradji and trondstad just need the chance to continue to work together consistently. Do agree he's no captain material though

Oh btw just remembered that “almost” McLoughlin own goal. Some stellar awareness there, and I’m sure half the Jack Walker at that side heard Toth’s call btw

A completely underwhelming performance but the most important thing was the result. The early goal should have settled us down but we just didn't dominate the ball like we should have done and instead of going for the second goal we became anxious in possession and misplaced too many passes or just gave the ball away.

If they were to get back into the game I felt it was going to be from a set piece as we looked really weak defending them. We did create some half chances in the second half but nothing really clear cut.

For me far too many players were below per and against the majority of Championship teams we would have been beaten in my view. The worst of these was our captain who I thought had a shocker. His one paced, lackadaisical approach is infuriating and he is more of a hindrance to us right now.

Although I wouldn't have picked the team Johnson did I thought his substitutions were better and actually made us stronger when we needed to be. To be hyper critical I thought he could have done a couple of them several minutes earlier.

Hopefully the hour that Carter got will enable him to build up his fitness as we are surely going to need him over the next few weeks.

It was nice to walk back to the car and see some smiling faces for a change.

One swallow and all that but heres hoping that the win and clean sheet can bring a touch of confidence back into a beleaguered club.

There is no defence for that Cantwell performance tonight 99% of everything he did was complete shit.

Hopefully just a bad day but not a captain in a million years.

Take the 3 points but didn’t really deserve them. A new manager has a massive job on their hands.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldnt have Cantwell as captain myself, I couldnt really think of anyone less suitable.

Just that most people seemed to have thought it was a masterstroke that had brought out the best in the player a few months ago.

Joseph looks a big lad who knows where the goals are. I’d have him on the bench rather than two left backs like we have been doing recently.

We're desperate and it depends on his mentality - but it could really damage him to be thrown into such dire situation. He's barely got U21 goals, as far as I know, and still turning out for the U18s.

Jorgensen is the type we probably won't see the best of until next season, after a full summer pre season with hopefully a gaffer who knows how to use him.

Thought Johnson did well tonight it was never going to be good i don't know what some expected. Ismael leaving solves very little at the min other than an opportunity to go back to basics a bit and try and tighten up.

Mowbray or Eustace wouldn't have approached it much different knowing what we know about them and more importantly this squad.

Ismael likely loses that 1 nil.

I agree on Jorgensen needing time and also how isolated he looked. I just wanted to add his headed clearance (was it onto the bar?) was useful!

A disappointing crowd, for a new man in the dugout.  If it had been a Saturday game, there might have been more turning up.

I went and tbh don’t blame people for not coming. It was bloody freezing out there. I was actually contemplating whether to dip out of there at 60th minute.

I still cannot get over the fact those at Ewood thought he was a suitable replacement for Hyam.

Absolute extreme cost cutting and downgrading that was.
