Johnson doesn't think he's fit enough to complete a match.

Like he doesn't think Gudjohnsen is fit enough to start a match.

I appreciate that and players fitness needs to be managed. But, like anyone, Johnson's decision making might be flawed and is not beyond challenge. His decisions on selection and changes did not go well today. If it had been Ismael's judgments and decisions he would have got stick, and rightly so. We lost ground again, today when I really think a draw, at least, was very much achievable. On reflection, I would have kept Carter on to secure that. Every time. Protecting anyone for the next game shouldn't come into thinking in our predicament.

League table doesn't really suggest that, at the minute.

It will come end of season. Leicester certainly won't be, WBA maybe. I find it hard to believe they are worse than us though across a whole season.

Cantwell got 3.4 on the player ratings on the BBC website.  No surprise he was bottom of the pile

His whole career is living off the huge potential he showed as a young player. In reality, he's a poor player. He wouldn't be here if he was a good player and there won't be a queue of clubs trying to sign him in the summer.

Morishita and Baradji seriously over-hyped signings - I have little doubt Jergensen will fall into the same category.

Agree - watched Rowett on pre match Sky EPL - spoke well and seems pragmatic.

Who over-hyped them?

I struggle with all this talk of luck. Take the Alebiousu slip; O’Riordan wins the header and there is no goal. But what happens is O’Riordan loses loses out, Alebiousu is wrong footed and therefore slips due to pushing off against the turf. Their player making the run to tap it in, that’s not luck. Luck is a cop out. Reality is we are the main contributing factor to the goals we concede

Not really. The one that hit the post came straight out to their player and our defender lost his footing for the second.

Having said that, we showed absolutely nothing-zilch-up front...One goal to the opponents and we are done.

Exactly. I had always assumed he would leave around 60 min.

This is all quite possible. And perhaps they are the same people advising not to start gudjonssen, ease in x and y over several months etc. Sometimes youve got to take a risk or two. There is no courage in this club and, for me, there wasn't in the starting line up, or the subs, today. Play another 20-30 mins then rest in the seven days before the next game.

Thats only because we see us up close every week.

I imagine WBA fans will be saying exactly the same about us.

What if the medical team said Carter only had 60 mins in him, any further would risk injury?

It could be fine margins come the end of the season whether we go down or not. If Carter felt fit enough to carry on, and we got a point (or better) today, that would take precedence over the medical team's precautions.

I'll say it again, the orders in regards to using players is coming from above it doesn't matter who is on the touchline.

Maybe not in regards to setting the team out and tactics on the day but everything else is a blue print being followed.

I 100% agree. I think Oxford will end up finishing above us, but I think they'll join us in lge 1.

We simply have no goals anywhere. We don't even create any chances. That's a big, big problem. We don't have Sammie to dig us out of a hole this time.

Been really disappointed with Morishita and Baradji. Both can go in the summer.

Only Alebiosu and Gudjohnsen were anywhere near championship level from those we brought in last summer (and I think we got lucky with Alebiosu as nothing in his career before he joined suggested he was up to this level). Miller has lots of passion but he's such a limited footballer. At least he gives his all though so I quite like him.

As I said, losing the header for the second isn’t luck. Not closing the man for the original shot on the first goal isn’t luck. If either of those instances don’t happen, they don’t score. There is no divine intervention for goals

Baradji did all game.

Complete passenger today.

Edit: I rate him highly actually. But just absent today.

That will be what happened but apart from goalkeeper the substitutions you don’t want to make at 0-0 is either of your centre halves. That combination is critical. It just shows how desperate we are that we’ll play a centre half knowing he’s only got an hour in him. I expect that it will be the same when Wharton comes back. Imagine having to sub both centre halves on their hour

Another disappointing result on the road again but I wasn't entirely disenchanted with the performance as I was at Ipswich and Swansea.

The game had 0-0 written all over it and I really felt comfortable and the draw was certainly achievable. The turning point was taking Carter off for me. The 66th minute was far too early given how he was playing and he didn't look tired in any way. He was pretty much the rock at the back so we were really surprised that he was taken off so early. I also struggled with taking Miller off and putting Alebiosu back to right back. Neither were needed in my opinion.

I do wonder how much the medical and sports science staff played Carter going off. In the ground we were really surprised. I was told on the train home from other Rovers supporters that Carter looked really dispirited to be taken off.

Along with Carter I thought Miller, Cashin and Tronstad were outstanding but once again Cantwell was largely a passenger. He was better today than he has been recently but still isn't doing anywhere near enough in my view. We don't have much pace in the team but when Cantwell is on the ball it really slows down to his pace.

Clearly scoring goals is a problem going forward and it will be a real conundrum going forward for the new manager. He will have to somehow get the right formula of players to get these otherwise we will go down. For me that's the stark reality.

I actually thought Carter looked like he was complaining about a problem and expected him to go straight down the tunnel for treatment.

It's possible he was feeling something.and it was precautionary so he was just frustrated.
