What I learnt from tonight's performance is:

Boothroyd looks poor

Jansen is a million miles from being in the team

As is Gresko

Stead's confidence must be rock bottom

Shouldn't have sold Yorke and Cole

Nisse was very poor

Pederson looked Ok at this level

Amo needs a Short or Matteo to play alongside him

Must disagree about Douglas though who I thought did a very good job

Oh and I missed two of the Rvoers goals.

Time for an ice bath

I see there are 180 degrees seperation from Saturdays summation of players. How so in such a short time. I am totally ###### off by this result. Blessing in disguise, MGP scored and hit his penalty, Gally scored. Mark Hughes will have a bit clearer idea of what he has to work with.

Mondays game is on TV not sure whether I dare watch or not.

Oh just one more thing, Souness is gone, I was a supporter of his, Hughes is here I did not want him here but for pity's sake could we focus our conversations on what Sparky has to do rather than continue the arguments about Souness.

Repeat after me, Souness is gone, Souness is gone, Souness is gone, Souness done a runner.

Very disappointed by the result but not as bitterly disappointed as some of our players should be feeling this morning.

No doubt in one-to-ones, Hughes has received many complaints about Souness' shut outs of certain individuals. Probably gave Sparky a conundrum-

Should he play Saturday's side to keep a winning combination perhaps making one or two changes?

But then, the much vaunted squad players would not get the first team run out Souness had been denying them and some heads would really drop.

Bournemouth are only 19th in the third division so why not give them all a go and make them shut up or put up..... ?

Sparky chose the latter option and they let themselves, Hughes and the Rovers down. No doubt some will not be seeing first team football again for a very long time.

Only positive note is Sparky noting the relative lack of fitness in his players. I had long felt that there was somehing wrong with the Rovers in that regard. Hopefully over tthe coming months, this is something that will get sorted out.

Embarassing we did not have one player who could rise above these third division players.

Rovers reserves couldnt beat a struggling Blackpool reserves the other night together with no talented youngsters coming through.

Souness has left us with a nationwide squad.

Very, very dissapointing. Not going to mention penalties as that side should never have even been in that situation against a team like Bournemouth!

Only positive to come out is that hopefully Hughes will have realised De Pedro, Gresko and Johansson are not good enough!

Absolute, complete and utter JOKE!!

I think Hughes will now know how bad we really are. He will be seriously concerned. Like damo gally says - he will now know NEVER to play Johannsen, Gresko or De Pedro EVER again. Absolutely abysmal

What on earth where them pens all about??? ffs!! Tugay's landed on row 30 and Stead nearly hit the fookin riverside!

Roll on Charlton (eeeek)

This isnt all bad news!! Ok it is bad and we lost to Bournemouth of all people buy hey its football. Every few Years rovers bow out of one of the competitions to a low team. Last time being Stockport. And yes the attendance was shocking, but hey its only a league cup game. (That’s what the likes of Man U say isn’t it?)

Anyway I think there are some positives to take from last night.

1 – Hughes is now well aware how poor our defence can be and is going to have to look to find the right combination of defenders

2 – I think the performance of Emerton and Pedersen will help boost their confidence. I have been impressed with the recent improvement shown by emerton.

3 – Gallagher took his chance with a goal and will now also be in Hughes’ mind for future.

4 – Its now clearly obvious after his penalty that John Stead is seriously lacking in confidence.

5 – We will now go on to win the FA Cup. rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

Yep. absolute complete f'ing joke.

Nissa, Tugay, Gresko and Amo (who would fail to win a medal in Athens this week) all need a rocket up their bums. As for fitness I could not believe Nissa keeled over for 5 mins with cramp.

To try and be positive Emmerton worked his backside off and MGP looked good. But apart from that headless chickens come to mind; plenty of running around but no direction and no leadership on the pitch.

The other positive was that so few turned up to witness history in making. But to those fans who did go the support was excellant from so few.

Can't wait for the trip to Charlton dry.gif

got to remember by making 9 changes you cant expect a flowing team performance.

Yeah we were poor, problem is with Short out now we have to find our best combination at the back. Just glad I dont have to do it....

Well that Eddie fella from Arsenal we have got is supposed to be very good at sorting out the defence so lets hope he works out the problems in time for next monday

As for fitness

Don't want to repeat what everyone else has said but this really is starting to stand out. Nissa looks like an extra from Barfly at the moment. He went down with cramp in his right leg and then his left leg siezed up as well. How impressive.

A lot of our players don't look fit or they looked tired. Maybe this new regime are going straight into it - working them really hard in training - to get them up to the correct fitness levels that other Premier League teams enjoy. My heart bleeds for our players.

Have the same feelings SS

Tris I also agree with you this time.

Den - I said exactly the same thing to Bobf re the fitness

Bobf - Agree with the we have no creativity whatsoever and are void of any talent - I also apologise for my whingeing (which actually proved me right with the final result) and apologies to the guy and the little kid in front for my ranting ( even though the kid must have thought I was coco the clown or something due to his laughter)

The team last night was an absolute (in Tashor style) FERKIN DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and their attitude stinks.

And what totally pisses me off is that there are fans who are happy that we are out and not too bothered about what happened last night- well I am not going to regret saying this but that is what is exactly wrong with our club when we don't give a sheite muslim - apathetic fans and I think we now have the answer to the stayaways, I take it you would not be bothered going if we had got to the final again? mad.gif

Only a few players can come out with any credit from last night and that was Emerton *(yes I have said it) Pedersen/Jansen (for his workrate) Gallagher and Stead again for whis workrate -but god does he need a goal.

We are a supposedly Premiership Side and last night was a bloody Embarrasment.

The only thing I am glad about is that Hughes will have learnt a hell of alot about the 'strongest squad' we had left by Souness and this can only be good for us in the long run.

I AM NOT HAPPY

Neill - Amoruso - Johanson - Gresko

Take a hard look at that back four, did we really expect them to help keeping a clean sheet? Their individual ability is nothing short of very poor, and if you add no communication and the fact we aint organized at all, no wonder we let in 3 goals..

exactly, people totally OTT, Gresko is ######, but now Hughes knows that, Nissa I have never liked and Hughes can see that, De Pedro is old and slow, Hughes knows that now etc etc.

I'm glad some players showed their true colours as they are not Hughes players, they are Souness's and now Hughes has no presssure to play anyone

Yeah but look at the defenders and we all know they have talent its just that they don’t show it week in week out.

Amo – Came back in the side toward the end of last season and made a big impact. Also made a difference against pompey. The guy is huge and has a presence about him

Neill – Played very well in his 1st season n half at ewood but has dipped in confidence ever since.

Gresko – Again, when on loan and playing for a contract he was class. Now he has the contract he doesn’t seem to be putting the same effort in.

Johanson – Never been given a decent run in the side of late so you van expect mistakes. The lad should be given a chance

Why????

He played last night, and was bloody awful at best against Bouremouth! He had one good game last season against Man City. Every other time he's played he's been poor. He is simply not good enough!

Like i said, he hasnt been given a spell in the team.

When was the last time he started and finished say 6 games in a row for the 1st team?

Or you could say that they are ######, but once in a while they put on a decent performance. Players who don't perform week in week out are a liability, especially when the difference between having a decent game and a poor one is like night and day.

I'm also getting sick of hearing the same old phrase "give the lad a chance" and so on, for God's sake we were up aginst Bournemouth! If you dont take that chance and go out there and prove yourself, well then I dont feel sorry for you!

Slagging of players who have hardly played a couple of games for the club is one thing, but you cant go on and say "give the lad a chance" about players who have been here for years...

What utter rubbish! This is a professional football club not a socialistic gathering! If you play well you play, if you play crap you dont, simple as that!

Wake up and smell the coffee Hughesy!

How often do you see players come out from the cold, get thrown into the team and play exceptional?

Not very often! It takes a few games to fit in again
