  1. Here is an interesting article on football agents. I do sometimes wonder if the club is run for the benefit of agents, rather then the owners and the fans. One that always made me think that was our bargain purchase of Ruben Rochina. Show me the Money: Who should pay the Football Agent and how is it taxed? - The Football Week
  2. You are spot on suggesting some of the signings you have. Just a competent goalkeeper, as we all know on here, would surely have got us in the play offs, so £200k based on this post, to secure a play off place, but not worth the risk apparently.
  3. I wonder what the agents made on this lot?
  4. The bigger picture here is we could so easily have been Sunderland. If you look at some of the signings Chaddy himself suggested, just 2 or 3 of those, would have given us a wonderful opportunity, so no real way of defending the actual signings.
  5. I know you follow the progress of these youngster and 100% respect your opinion too, so have to wonder what the clubs agenda agenda is here, as we both know there will be one.
  6. Waggott is connected with clubs that went the same was as us, when he was there. Charlton and Coventry both very similar trajectory.
  7. I know. I think the coverage is different too.
  8. I remember both of those games, very well. Both definitely in the 80’s
  9. I spent most of my early years supporting Rovers from the Riverside. Probably 1973 to 1985. It was far from full during those years, but it’s where I fell in love with Rovers and used to really enjoy my time there, with some great memories.
  10. I take it the TV feed suggesting things are fine, was the hot topic?
  11. I have a feeling that may well be the Rovers TV coverage. I bought a season ticket for Rovers TV with living in Spain and was able to watch all of the league games home and away for £180. When the games were live on Sky, the coverage I got was different, as was the commentary.
  12. If there is any suspicion of money laundering, it could be investigated anywhere. There have been suggestions in the past, that the initial funds used to purchase the club, were not necessarily traceable. I don’t know if there is any truth in that, or if it was investigated properly. Pasted below is quite an interesting article. https://www.occrp.org/en/news/uk-indias-king-of-the-good-times-re-arrested-for-money-laundering
  13. I do believe, several people have his number, but spilling the beans might be a bit beyond the pale.
  14. All this going on and the adverse publicity that it brings, yet no mention of them putting the club up for sale. It is one deep, dark secret, that needs hiding if it costs the reported £20m per year to have nothing but shit fired out you.
  15. It certainly draws a lot less scrutiny, when not in the premier league. Funny how they couldn’t wait to relegate us and then ensure they firebomb any attempt to get promoted, each time it looks like it might happen.
  16. One thing not mentioned so far, is the he shirt sponsors. They 2023/24 season saw Watson Ramsbottom solicitors sponsored the womens shirts. That in turn, led to them going on to sponsor the mens shirts las season. The amount paid to do you that, was more than 3 times, the budget the ladies team were given last year. Assuming the mens sponsorship came around, due to the womens year being considered successful, it does show, they go hand in hand, yet the opportunity has now gone. Sadly these things are overlooked.
  17. Whoever was going to buy the club, would want a deep dive into the accounts and also the history of when the current owners bought it and what went on. This in my view is the biggest reason for them not selling, as I suspect they are scared of what that would uncover. Again, this is my opinion, but I suspect if they saw who is on the payroll and what they are doing to justify their wage, then it would give them some real explaining to do. For what it's worth, if someone came in with funds to invest and had a properly structured plan and they really got to the bottom of where the £20m really goes, they could find a way of keeping things relatively lean and probably give us a chance of returning to the premier league. Lets face it, we have had every little financial backing for the last 2 years and a bit, yet nearly made the play offs in 2 out of the last 3 seasons. if the new owners know how to read send instead of save and get a loan over the line on deadline day, without falling foul of missing deadlines by a couple of minutes, that could be all it takes.
  18. Tell her there is loads of Claret at 1 euro per glass full.
  19. No need to sell anyone, as there is no impediment to them funding.
  20. It depends on who has been having a slice.
