I’m presuming 6.4 only applies if the game is abandoned and rearranged before it kicked off. 6.3 clearly says that if you attended the original game and it was abandoned in the second half you are entitled to a 40% refund but have to buy a ticket for the rearranged game. Why would anyone do that when you could just say you can’t make the rearranged game, get a full refund and then buy a ticket?

Be interesting to see how Bayes and radio Lancs report this. Losing access for live coverage for Radio Lancs would be a big blow for them, but banning the BBC would be a more high-profile risk for Rovers.

It says if the game has kicked off then you are only entitled to a partial refund, not to attend the re-rearranged match. The rearranged match has to be a new ticket purchase. Surely they will make it free to ST holders, but you never know.

As I walked off the ground on Saturday I just presumed it would be a full replay. The surprise is it has taken us 5 days to get here.

I have to admit I thought this would be a straight forward "replayed" announcement on Monday and am surprised we haven't heard anything back yet.

There’s definitely been a few in Spain. Generally they have been for crowd issues (illness, trouble) rather than weather. But you are right. No way this isn’t getting replayed in full.

Eh? It was hardly raining pre-kick off and the pitch was perfect at the start. You can’t call a game off on what might happen with the weather.

According to rovers “Customer Charter”:- If a match is postponed after this time but before kick-off, ticket holders are entitled to free admission to the rearranged game or a refund. If a match is abandoned after kick-off, spectators are entitled to half price admission to the rearranged match.

We’re not necessarily disagreeing on today’s abandonment. I can see both sides of the argument. It’s your claim that the pitch against Portsmouth was “much worse”.

Chaddy, you’ve posted the Portsmouth game and the last two highlights are in the 87th and 90th minutes and the ball is rolling better than it was today. Everyone can see that. But in your typical obstinate fashion you refuse to change your opinion and insist it was ‘worse’ than today.

Shearer famously scored twice past Schmeichal when rovers beat United 2-0 in April 94 and the stand was being done then. It opened for the start of the 1994/95 season. What was the last league game which fans sat in the Nuttall Street stand before demolition is a good question.

I was sat in the ‘new’ Darwen End for that game and Jones and co. came sliding in front of us, so definitely Premier League 93/94 season.

As I said, the result standing is usually only invoked if it’s abandoned due to crowd issues, fans tying to get the game stopped etc.. It’s just one rule to cover several eventualities. I can’t think of a precedent in a league where the result has stood due to weather unless both teams have agreed.

There is an element that 20+ years ago that match would have carried on for 10 more minutes without a thought.
