The Relegation Thread (15th edition)
Silas replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hopefully with this being the longest of seasons (Covid- playing in July, Aug etc), there will be a lot of that about. Although, that also means the teams below desperate for wins might be playing against the same. Which is worrying. -
Yeah, can we not call him it again please. 👍 Or go on Twitter or something and actually say it "to his face" if you are so inclined. Just not on here please.

Why isn't it one of our strengths Tony?! Has that thought ever entered your head these last few years. With the height we had on the pitch today - Brereton, Gallagher, Johnson, Lenihan to name a few - teams should be shitting themselves when we have an attacking set piece. But they're not....they're too busy planning how to tear us apart on the break.

Fútbol, Le Foot, Voetbal, ποδόσφαιρο

Sounds like you do. I see you have a needless, painful friendly against Qatar tonight, who are in decent form. Good luck! Since it's on Sky I might dip in and see if I can spot the similarities with Rovers. The guy on radio was: "Anyone can keep possession at the back, it goes sideways and backwards, but never goes anywhere. What's the point in that!" Now where have I heard that before. 🤔 -

Was Irish guy on radio today talking about your team's style of posession with no end product. Said you only had one decent chance midweek and that was blazed over the bar. His frustrations with the manager sounded identical to Rovers. Are you supporting 2 football teams with the exact same issues? 🤔 If so, you have my deepest sympathies. I can barely cope with 1 helping. -
Should switch to CNN. They seem to have full coverage. You're right, it is a fascinating case, and I don't think it's overdramatic to say it could possibly be the biggest in history if you factor in the potential consequences. I reckon there will be fairly large riots if the defendant gets a medium conviction of, say, manslaughter and 10 years. An acquittal doesn't even bear thinking about, there would be full on armageddon in the States.

Just watching the start of George Floyd trial and it has me thinking of the documentary: LA 92. Really good film. Covers the riots after the Rodney King incident. Used to be on Netflix for free, but seems to just be to rent for £3.50 on Amazon or Sky now. Anyway, if this Court case doesn't have a satisfactory outcome I fear we could see way worse than 1992.

European Champions League 2020/21

Over in the far east? What were crowds/atmosphere like? Did it feel different to a British match day? Do they sing songs about the ref? 😀 -

Europa... but even Jose's midas touch can't overcome being Spursey. I think it must be an incurable disease. -

Nice to hear the team have been wearing T shirts supporting Dack. This squad do seem to have great team spirit off the pitch. Just doesn't translate on match day unfortunately. -

With his size, he should be doing stuff like this: But it tends to be the other way round, like the foul on the halfway line. -
Sorry if you feel I've misrepresented you, not my intention, just found that last line a bit odd. In terms of your preceding sentence, who the hell knows who clicks on them. I never had and never will. But someone out there must. Companies wouldn't be chucking money at it if it doesn't produce some results. 🤷♂️ I also wonder why I still get emails from African princes with financial transfer issues. I rack my brain pondering who out there walking the planet at the moment thinks - "Hey, I bet this could be a good opportunity!" But they must be out there. People aren't wasting their time still sending them just for lols.

As opposed to what? Those massive ad fans out there. Desperately searching for ad heavy sites to satisfy their craving. C'mon Stuart, you're beginning to sound like it's your first time on the internet. There's barely a corner left that isn't tainted by capitalism in some form. Pretty much every site has ads on them of varying degrees, even if it's just advertising itself. A friend of mine told me some sites bombard people with tons of adverts just to watch like a 5 min video clip. They're pretty easy to bypass though.........my friend's told me. If they bug you and detract from use of the site, that's fair enough, you're entitled to feel that way. Let's not pretend something new and outlandish has happened though. It's all fairly standard stuff.
-
Yeah, fair enough, very different sites, I get that. Was just pointing out that from experience, these specific ads blend into the background quicker than you might think. That was all. That's my personal experience though, doesn't mean others won't feel different and find them annoying.
-
Indeed. I've just worked out I hadn't even noticed them because I was so conditioned to instantly closing them on another site. Forebet = great football stat site with h2h info, form guide etc that I definitely don't use to aid and abet a gambling habit. 🤔 Anyway, if you're researching fixtures daily those ads must be par for the course, because I appear to deal with them like my eyelids deal with moisturising my eyeballs. I kid you not. It's actually caused me to reevaluate a few things tonight. 😊😊

I'm not getting any change on mobile (samsung galaxy). Didn't yesterday on my work PC either. What am I missing? 🤔 Is it because I stay logged in so I'm not clicking on a new link.

Speaking of the last 6 games though, I see we're now rock bottom of the form table: https://www.thefishy.net/formtable.php?table=2 Even if you go by the last 10 games we're in the bottom 3. It truly is the direst of dire death spiral, and that takes some doing with what's gone before. I genuinely can't see how any Rovers fan, however positive they are generally, can not be reaching for the panic button. Even worse, some of them are incredulous that it's being touted. Mystifying. There's showing loyalty and giving managers a chance, I get that, but that ship sailed a long time ago. Tony should have been on it.
