  1. Sometimes skim-reading threads isn't a good idea. For one horrible minute there....
  2. Not at all. Whilst the 'R' rate has been reported to be below 1 in the UK now, it's a well known fact that the 'R' rate is around 30 at Brockhall.
  3. You're not easily pleased Sparks. 18 goals and 10 assists in 18/19. Admittedly had a run of 6 games without a goal or assist in Feb/March - but followed that up with 4 goals and 2 assists in the 9 games after that.
  4. Almost worthy of its own thread on the main board. Or at least a Waggott thread.
  5. Was that cup game at Luton Samba's debut? I'm sure I remember him coming on and thinking he was just going to be a clumsy lump. What a top signing he turned out to be.
  6. 35 in 11 games - 3.18 goals per game.
  7. I wouldn't exactly call Wijnaldum a tackler though. According to the Premier League website: Played 187 Tackles 205 Tackle success 67% Compared to Rothwell last season Starts 13 (+ 20 sub appearances) (1747 minutes on the pitch) Tackles 37 Tackle success 76% So Rothwell actually attempts and wins more tackles than Wijnaldum.
  8. Liverpool played with Henderson and Wijnaldum in midfield against City - with Jota, Firmino, Salah and Mane in front of them. I'm not saying we have the same standard of players as those 6, but at the same time, we're not up against Man City.
  9. I remember thinking exactly the same. Filan and Kelly were both very good keepers. Signing Friedel seemed like absolute madness. One of the best signings we ever made. I do also remember being gutted that we weren't signing Berkovic permanently and went for Tugay instead. Souness obviously a more canny spotter of a player than myself. (I'll forget about Grabbi).
  10. That's Travis' job.
  11. Not a problem now though. There's only Liverpool, City and Brentford scored more league goals than Rovers in 2020. Just need to stop being so porous at the back.
  12. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Ayala Douglas Rothwell Travis Elliot Dack Brereton Armstrong Maybe Johnson over Rothwell if we are against a better side.
  13. Can you imagine that squad in the Championship this season? It was the perfect mix of youth and experience. It would walk this league (probably even now with them all being 20 years older). Friedel (29), Berg (31), McAteer (29), Berkovic (28), Short (32), Flitcroft (28), Dunn (21), Hignett (30), Duff (21), Blake (28), Jansen (23), Bent (22).
  14. He's not played a single minute in the Premier League. Only made cup appearances.
  15. Quite a few comments about Adam Armstrong being a bit wasteful on here and that he needs to improve on that if he wants to play at the top level. According to the BBC, he's scored 11 from 41 shots in the Championship, a conversion rate of 27%. It's worth noting that there are a few at the top level with a worse conversion rate than Armstrong this season - notably: Harry Kane 24% Sadio Mane 24% Raul Jimenez 21%
  16. I thought you were being a bit over critical at first, but this would suggest he's had more than twice as many shots as almost everyone in the division: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers He could be closer to 20 goals already if he was as clinical as some of the other strikers in this division ?
  17. His resale value will be barely any higher than what we have paid at the moment.
  18. I thought he was actually more talented than people gave him credit for. He'd have walked into our side for the last 5 years.
  19. We were great in Hodgson's first few months in charge. Quickly went down hill though.
  20. Pedersen was signed by Parkes prior to Hodgson arriving to be fair. I remember being linked with Casiraghi, but think it was Davies we signed that summer instead. Being linked with Thierry Henry was a new one to me. Agree on being way more interested as a kid than now.
  21. I must have been 13 when we signed him and seem to remember being equally as excited. I just stumbled upon this article from shortly after the days of Per Pedersen... https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-blackburn-keen-on-casiraghi-to-boost-title-challenge-1293464.html Pierluigi Casiraghi is the player Roy Hodgson wants to add an additional cutting edge to Blackburn Rovers' attempt to win their second Premiership title in three years. Hodgson, who has already exceeded expectations by steering Rovers to joint second in the table, wants the 28-year-old Lazio striker to compete with Chris Sutton and Kevin Gallacher. Blackburn can expect to pay a club record pounds 6m to pounds 7m for Casiraghi - but the problem may be wages. Casiraghi's demands could be too high for the club's owner, Jack Walker. However, Hodgson insists that Rovers need to strengthen their squad with top players. He has also been watching other top strikers, such as Monaco's Thierry Henry and Viktor Ikpeba.
  22. All spot on. Must have been too easy that set. Fair play on Paul Harford though!
