That *was* the January Window

Venkys are building a squad for League 1 and below. It will cut their losses so it's not as unlikely as it might seem. -
The Purgatory or Hope Poll
alcd replied to OldEwoodBlue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Administration is the only way they'll be shifted. Also a sale conducted by the Administrator might just avoid some of the swindlers and chancers that Venkys themselves would be happy to do a deal with. -

He was relegated (and sacked) with a club in Holland. -

Even with a patched up defence that's pants even at full strength? Can see Steven Fletcher and James Mclean causing problems. -

It'll be League 1 if Szmodics is sold this month. -

Saxton had a mixed bag of signings. Ian Miller, Sellars and Gennoe all good. But Norman Bell and McKinnon rubbish. Jimmy Quinn came good after leaving. -

Probably come on and score the winner as he did for Watford. -

For now. QPR actually played pretty well and looked really dangerous after Smyth came on. Don't fancy Pickering against him in a couple of weks time when Chair will also be back operating on the other flank. No way are Rovers keeping a clean sheet with the current shambolic defending. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Officially No Longer Our Head Coach
alcd replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Time for Tomasson to go otherwise relegation is nailed om. He clearly has no future at this club. But Venkys won't be able or willing to pay the compensation and Waggott /Broughton haven't the guts to make it happen. Desperately need experienced players to provide some organisation and backbone. Sadly that's not going to happen either. -

Won't want to come back here next season even if Tomasson is gone. -

He's right to be concerned about the remainder of the season and so should the fans. I struggle to see where 5 wins at least are coming from based on recent performances and a threadbare squad with only Szmodics as a regular goalscorer. -

The Indian authorities are notorious for moving at snails pace. It took them 10 years to identify the Neville mansion remittance scam. The club could be in the National League before they've concluded their investigations. -
His career track record shows him to be a football club undertaker. Charlton Coventry and Southend all heading to oblivion under his management before he rocked up here courtesy of his mate TM.

Perhaps he's being lined up for a loan move. We can only hope as he contributes absolutely nothing. -

If that happens this season, relegation is a certainty. Doesn't mean it won't happen though.... -
With us on L1 the way things are heading. Telalovic, Ennis and Leonard will also be better suited to that level.

They could repay the loans from the banks if they've got a couple of hundred million sitting around but if they do then why did they take out loans in the first place. It's a mistake to assume that even "billionaires" have a cache of liquid assets. -

If they sell the club they'll have to repay the loans that have financed the club and if they can't repay, the assets they're secured on in India will be taken. They are stuck between a rock - continuing losses - and a hard place - losing assets in India. It was only ever a matter of time before this happened. -
Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?
alcd replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This is worse than being in administration because at least then Venkys would have lost control. It's completely destructive to run any business in this way. But it could likely carry on for ages because we all know how slow both governments and tax authorities move to resolve anything. -

It's down to a 10 point cushion after resurgent Sheffield Wednesday trounced Hull today. Next home league match against Huddersfield is looking like a relegation 6 pointer.
