  1. According to the UK accounting standard FRS 102 consideration to post balance sheet events should be made up to the date the accounts are signed on behalf of the board by a director of the company, which was late July ( FRS102.32.2). Maguire ought to have known that.
  2. The accounts were signed by the auditors on 31 July so I think the transfer activity in August is not covered by the statement about post balance sheet activity - which therefore excludes the departures of Kaminski and Phillips and the arrival of the new goalkeeper and striker.
  3. Preston haven't looked back since they benched him.
  4. I think discounts on prices for cup games require the agreement of the club we are playing in the cup.
  5. That's a lot clearer - thanks.
  6. Did anybody query why the anticipated attendance is so low ? The game against Walsall had an attendance of 6,173 and last season's game against Hartlepool had an attendance of 6,841.
  7. Managers will argue that the teams they're putting out are the strongest teams for that particular game, on the grounds that fatigue will reduce the output of the affected players.
  8. The comment - made within 15 minutes or so of his debut - was that he wasn't of the required standard, which seems to be writing him off.
  9. That is correct. On page 11 of this thread one poster - within a short period of the player coming on to the pitch - is telling us he is not up to the required standard.
  10. He's done a good job there. Any reason why he's going ?
  11. I think it's more that in discussing players too soon, some posters - or maybe one in particular - start trying to build a bandwagon that the person seen to be responsible for their signing should be dismissed.
  12. Szmodics is a good example of why rushing to judgement of players is not a good idea. This time last year there were many on here who were saying that we had had our trousers pulled down by Peterborough in signing him; now he is our talisman. Players should be given a fair chance to show their worth.
  13. This is not completely correct. Stoke did sell their ground to their owners to comply with FFP.
  14. Perhaps we are the first team they've played recently who are good enough to make them look poor.
  15. He gets abuse on here, and he got booed playing for England.
  16. Yes but the player at whom it was aimed gets so much unpleasant abuse, like getting booed by so called supporters, that I doubt it was tongue in cheek.
  17. But wouldn't they be scrutinised ?
  18. There are several other players from the starting line up against Ukraine who are not starting tonight so I don't see how you have arrived at that conclusion.
  19. Why buy a PL team in the first place then ?
  20. Given that the additional TV revenues that accrue from being in the Premier League are worth far more than any club assets that could be liquidated why would he want to prevent us being promoted if the objective is to recoup money ?
  21. He has a track record of playing a lot better for England than Man U.
  22. Come on. He's in the England Under 20s for a reason.
  23. The manager should be safe though. His father owns the club.
