  1. Don't really understand your post sorry. What I will say is I'm willing to bet that last season Phillips would have stayed on the pitch longer, maybe even Brittain too (both wrongly of course). We seem to have a more cautious approach this season, I'm convinced our old manager overruled advice from performance/medical staff at times. Pure speculation of course and not based on any facts.
  2. Apart from injuries and fatigue 😏
  3. Looks like there's rain forecast pre match and it's a bit cooler which I'm sure the players will be pleased with, although I wouldn't be adverse to resting a couple for this if they're not 100% - no disrespect to Reading but I'd expect Sheff Utd to be a tougher test. I'm trying to move away from our previous manager, but we 100% would have lost this game under him. I've got renewed confidence in JDT, first and foremost he doesn't come out pre match bigging up the opposition which got right on my tits. 2-0 away win.
  4. Fully agree on this. If I was in his position I'd be happy to stay this season anyway, another impressive season and imagine all the offers he would have from clubs at the end of the season with him being A)more proven B)free. As it stands we're not really aware of any concrete interest in him, he's still classed as high risk I would say as well, he might be nowhere near as good this season (although early signs are good!).
  5. Said this days ago, I don't see how Liverpool are gonna release him unless Matips injury is only very short term as they're already without Konate. It may have scuppered our plans somewhat as we're not in a position to wait now. We need someone in now who's had a pre season and ideally have played a few games, might mean dipping into league 1 again....
  6. I mean Nyambe is available on a free at the end of the season as it stands 😏
  7. Here you go pal https://www.skysports.com/football/blackburn-rovers-vs-west-bromwich-albion/467848
  8. Yet you're taking Nixons word as gospel, hells teeth 🙄
  9. None of the players you've mentioned had that agreement in place.
  10. I would suggest that's bollocks from Nixon. Never heard of such a loan deal before. Broughton seems a savvy man, I honestly doubt he'd be up for such a ridiculous deal.
  11. How the hell is Neville lumping all the blame on the owners? Yes they are awful and need to go, but they aren't on the pitch.
  12. Pickering onion monster much would be decent
  13. Like who? Most of their good players last season were loan players anyway. Cant really think of many fringe players who'd be of interest. Still think Grabban will be a good signing for someone mind, although he's left them now obviously.
  14. I've said this from the point Wigan were initially interested- their captain Darikwa is a right back. He's not getting dropped for Nyambe. It's nothing to do with a pre season, he's arguably a better player too. Would we bring a midfielder in and drop Trav? Would we hell.
  15. It is too simple. They'll have factored in other teams at home the same night. Next Tuesday you have Bolton and Preston already at home they won't want Wigan too. The plod have certain rules on which teams they want at home on the same day.
  16. Another game off midweek for Coventry against Wigan, they definitely need punishment for this its a joke. Dread to see the state of their pitch as the season progresses if its this bad already.
  17. No way they can let VDB come here on loan if Matip is injured for any period of time, just says a groin but hopefully not too bad. Konate is already out for a while with his knee and although he never got a look in they dont even have Davies to fall back on the season.
  18. We have given plenty of game time to loan players, I don't just mean Liverpool players but they are able to recognise the likes of Tosin etc have benefitted from time here.
  19. Clarkson was nowhere near up to it thats why, would have been suicidal to shoehorn him in. Its pretty obvious Van Den Berg is a different kettle of fish, he's been there done it.
  20. Wheres this 30 game guarantee thing come from? A credible source or a dingle conjuring up excuses? Van Hecke made 31 appearances last season, won player of the season and IMO walked away a better player for it. You could argue Elliott was the same I guess but he was already a class act. No silly guarantees or clauses should be required when we already have good recent dealings with Liverpool and also previous for giving loan players plenty of game time.
  21. It's surprising there's any of you left who Nixon hasn't blocked yet, absolute big baby unless you hang on his every word as being gospel
  22. If Van Hecke is going to be a non-starter which seems increasingly likely, he wouldn't be a bad compromise at all VDB. Nobody spring immediately to mind but I'd still like an experienced centre half too.
  23. Yes But who would pays his wages with the structure we have in place?
  24. https://www.skysports.com/football/blackburn-rovers-vs-hartlepool-united/469483 Markanday really caught the eye, looking like he's getting up to speed thanks to JDT giving him the extra game time no doubt
