  1. But that was never going to happen. And it certainly wouldn’t happen now as the majority of remaining match going fans don’t particularly have much issue with the owners. Ask a selection of fans at Ewood why we don’t have any cash, and see how many blame the Rao family, and how many blame ‘shit support’.
  2. The Academy seems to struggle to get any striker cabs moving off said rank….
  3. Of course they’ll get a massive allocation. Swag’s ‘stretch bonus’ will be relying on those £30 Darwen End tickets.
  4. … until they hound him out next season for his ‘shit football’.
  5. ‘His move into space at Bristol City’ is the new ‘Hirst just needs a run of games’ by the looks of it…
  6. Not a lot of alternatives up top, so let’s hope he does come good, but for a striker to be nearly 22 and never have scored a goal in League football… it surely has to be soon if he wants a career at this level?
  7. Purely because we were 3rd/4th when they were choosing games, Sky don’t obviously look any deeper at it than that. You are best making a late surge for promotion, that way only your games in the run in would be picked… alas we like to do it the opposite way round, an anti-surge from the top end to mid table!
  8. Travis and Wharton, certainly. However, Buckley’s dip had started last season.
  9. To be fair it isn’t normal for a team 8th in the second division to have one Saturday 3pm game in five months. It is what it is as Sky call the tune. However, those expensive STs become even less enticing when we go half a season with hardly a traditional KO…
  10. Banging on about the unfairness of owners bankrolling football clubs… this is Wigan who had crowds of 1,500 and were on the verge of dropping back into non league before Whelan bought them.
  11. He’s a massive Birmingham fan. As is his family.
  12. Why would the players not be supported?
  13. … everybody’s gates were on their arse back then. Even the likes of Arsenal had average crowds of c20k. The ‘Geordie Nation’ around 15k.
  14. That’s the ‘one’…
  15. On the Sky issue, since Huddersfield on the 5th November, we’ll have had just one Saturday 3pm home league game until we play Hull on the 15th April.
  16. But that’s the point, most fans aren’t ‘paying attention’ like us saddos pouring over every aspect of the club day in day out on an obscure message board. They just go to a game every other week and/or see snippets on Facebook/the LT. Whereas this debacle has been very public on one of the most high profile days/evenings of the season for any football fan
  17. Didn’t say people think we are ‘well run’, most folk I speak to have had no particular opinion on Waggott, Cheston, Pasha or anybody else. And the ‘owners are putting in millions’. There has obviously been no groundswell of anger in the ground against any of them (Venky’s included) for years.
  18. Away from brfcs, I haven’t detected much issue from fans with how the club has been run post L1 promotion. I’d be very surprised if anybody else on here had picked up anything different. I hear that ‘our shit fans’ are to blame for our struggles far more than the likes of Waggott… though the tide may be beginning to turn again.
  19. That was a decade ago. Most fans I speak to have had very little issue with the administration of the club for a good while now… until the past few days.
  20. It’s pretty simple to me as to why this has been such a severe fan backlash. You don’t normally get an actual insight into the workings of a football club. This has been all too public and shown everybody, even the uber-positive Facebook brigade just how dysfunctional this club still is.
  21. He’s a big Rovers fan, wish we had more like him, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t talk a right load of nonsense half the time…
  22. Not at all, was just a mere light hearted aside re a certain poster’s puppies and rainbows approach to life…
  23. So why do the owners allow it, year after year, person after person?
  24. Some assumptions going on there dolly. I was on every single one, and yes we were easily ignored and seen as representing a minority viewpoint as the vast majority looked the other way. Angry grounds are spontaneous 99% of the time, look at Goodison this season as an example.
  25. Exactly right. ‘Organised’ protests just end up with a few hundred or so fans looking a bit daft as the majority don’t join in as you ‘should just get behind the lads’. Spontaneous eruptions of anger during a game (usually if you go 1 or 2 down) is when you get most joining in, they forget about ‘the lads’ then…
