  1. Even the finance guy, Kieran Maguire, supposed ‘guru’ of all things money related in football has spent years saying what marvellous owners they are - ‘20 million a year!’
  2. Hope you’re right, but this mob putting the club up for sale as a result of poor ST sales? Seems a stretch to me.
  3. We are at the heady heights of c9,000 ST holders currently - yet we only sold 6,995 in 2021, they didn’t bat an eye lid. Say it’s 3,995 next season, I don’t particularly foresee the owners buckling under any pressure… of course they should then be buckling, klaxons should be sounding an inch from their faces… but these are not normal owners.
  4. Think you’re right. We sold a mighty 6,995 STs in 2021 (substantially lower than even the Coyle summer)… shrugs all round.
  5. Even the president of the Markanday fan club doesn’t think he’s good enough.
  6. We fundamentally have a ‘board’ of a professional football club that has no ambition, no interest in seeing the club thrive on or off the pitch (with everything said thriving leads to). They are purely there to tick it over, to lower costs with a minimum of fuss for owners half way round the world, owners that haven’t visited their business for a decade. Not normal, which is why folk need to possibly reset their expectations re them fecking off in even the medium term.
  7. It all comes down to what you believe ‘the club’ is. If you think ‘supporting the club’ just entails watching blue and white shirts at Ewood every other week, then you don’t have anything to weigh up this summer. If however by wanting the best for ‘the club’ you believe you need to do what it takes to get these owners currently killing it out the door, and you feel not handing over ST money can aid that (if it will with these strange people is another matter) then surely you are also ‘supporting the club’.
  8. If ST sales collapse to say c4,000 (2,000 full adults) next season will it push them closer to the door? At any normal club, of course it would (that would be an enormous decline from c20,000 when they arrived), the Oystons are a prime example of NAPM having the requisite result - here? I’m not convinced as we just can’t look at these owners through the lens of standard business norms.
  9. Surely not, ‘League 1 player’, ain’t he?
  10. I would go to some games, it’s my club and my heritage, but when it suited me, I’d imagine, instead of the opposite way round it’s been my whole Rovers supporting life - I.e would I buy another season ticket? Not sure I would.
  11. I’d never even given it a second thought before this summer. My overarching feeling on it is (putting the ‘making a stand’ and all that to one side) purely on a personal psychological/leisure time perspective, if I stop, that’s me done as with a decent distance to travel to Ewood and all the fixture moves/night games/on TV anyway, I’d very quickly get used to not losing a day of my weekend every other week.
  12. So Bury 😱 will have more on this weekend than we will next season.
  13. I’m afraid it’s run its course for this season (unless we lose both over Easter and you may see something against Watford). Just the way it is as most fans are purely results driven. As I said yesterday the next stage will be the collapse of STs and so crowds in general next season, that will be a bigger visual and financial protest than anything else.
  14. Nobody else would ever buy us, nobody else could do a better job than Steve Waggott. We are truly blessed.
  15. A late draw and an away win have taken the winds out the sails too. It’s the double edged sword, of course, as football is fundamentally about your club winning games, though doing that removes most hostility - we win on Friday and the campaigns will get very little traction for what’s left of this season, then in the close season it is also harder to get noticed. (Of course the biggest protest of all is still to manifest itself, I.e the collapse in ST sales and ergo crowds next season).
  16. Be more extensive than anything the regime will cobble together.
  17. Get a result on Friday and I would wager you won't be hearing much (apart from the corner of BBE NO1) dissent for the rest of the season.
  18. They were taken over in November (five whole months ago) and they are still attracting new investors. But let’s split hairs instead of discussing the point.
  19. So like I said a consortium including Modric owns Swansea.
  20. Swansea (lower average crowd than us this season) taken over by a consortium including Luka Modric #nobodywouldEVERbuyus
  21. Burnley territory that, don’t want to step in anybody else’s patch or owt…
  22. That’s exactly what PNE or Bolton would be doing for an equivalent estate. Here? Mail shots? Nah, remember we have our ‘Digital’ Policy.
  23. No the Rovers way these days is to be up there until it got serious in the new year, fall away, then have a small bounce and have the slightest of slight chances by the end - did it with Bowyer, TM, JDT, so why not again…
  24. He’s giving it a real good go, ain’t he.
