  1. He has provided plenty, he’s been a key member of a side who’s spent years at the top end of the table. Not sure anybody thinks he’s PL quality, but good luck to him if he has ambitions to get there one day.
  2. He provides goals and assists, the opposite of flattering to deceive.
  3. He doesn’t need to get a PL gig to earn decent money, I.e the going rate for a decent Championship player.
  4. Exactly the same reasons as my father in law. Be interesting to see the sales figures across the Championship this summer after fans have now seen just how many games will be moved for/shown on TV.
  5. End of the day football is (or should be/was) about winning things. So fair play to Ange, and Tottenham fans will remember Bilbao far more than those glorious 4th place finishes…
  6. Think you are giving your standard football fan a bit too much credit re critical thinking skills…
  7. Not stooges from what I’ve seen. Most fans I’ve spoken to away from brfcs have had little issue with the decision.
  8. Man Utd and Tottenham being crap (and the CL places going down to a not exactly elite fifth) has led to this narrative to how open and meritocratic the Premier League now is. Top 4? Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea. The more things change…
  9. One bad season is was it used to take, but this season has shown that the promoted three are often so bad it just isn’t the case anymore.
  10. …and managers, and minority shareholders.
  11. They are fortunate when it comes to support, good luck to them on that, but as one of only three league clubs in the whole north east of England it can’t lead to anything but a big fanbase. Compare and contrast to hemmed in Blackburn Rovers.
  12. ‘How much cheaper can we go’? We can always go cheaper here. Look at the absolute dross we had on the pitch in the late Bowyer era or under Coyle (him included).
  13. Gav didnt say it was ‘impossible’ without parachutes, but he did say wasn’t going to happen ‘9/10’. However, last three seasons Luton, Ipswich and Sunderland have all done it without them. So, of course, it’s a very unfair system, but doable, especially for those clubs that spend year after year around the top end of the leag…oh
  14. Like usual at that basket case club he’ll be backed in the summer, theyll then bring in more overpriced dross… and then he’ll be potted in about October.
  15. So you can’t explain how those steps could have avoided a PR disaster- unsurprisingly, as obviously they couldn’t possibly have.
  16. I did, and none of those ‘comms’ steps would have avoided a PR disaster.
  17. You said it was a ‘PR disaster’, so how could Waggott or anybody else have avoided that?
  18. So it wouldn’t have been good PR regardless.
  19. Explain how what happened could have ended up as good PR?
  20. Will it make a difference to the club? Nah. Not really. Will it make a difference to me seeing that leech miss out on pocketing hundreds of thousand more in ill gotten gains whilst swanning around in a club tie… yes, yes it will.
  21. Yeah poor comms with stakeholders ( 🚨 ) is the issue.
  22. Still banging on about ‘communication’ and seemingly put out that Steve didn’t give them a bell first. The committee needs to get a grip of its priorities, and quick.
  23. All rational thought says this can’t go on, indeed it wouldn’t anywhere else. So I get why folk think we’ve reached some kind of end game - ‘once the Sammie and Wharton money has gone’ ‘they’ll be gone in 12 months’ etc. Alas they won’t have. We’ve somehow stumbled across the most intransigent set of owners in football. I rue the day the Walkers sold this club and Jack down the river, all for a relative pittance.
  24. Thank god for the NIMBYs of the Ribble Valley taking a stand against the housing plan … as our fanbase wouldn’t have.
