The horse thing is so lame, trying desperately to get something to stick like the ‘Dingle’ tag instantly did.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Mattyblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Clubs at all levels have comms teams churning out this stuff, always have to an extent - think of ‘manager programme notes’ of yore that was the same collection of platitudes every week. Nowt to get in a tiz about. -

Poor do it wasn’t on the egg letter headed paper. -
So it was a terrible sale whichever way you slice it, but hey ho, we had a gas bill to pay that the billionaires wouldn’t.

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
Mattyblue replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
End of the day there’s a new manager and we are sitting in the play off places with 12 games to go, so nothing is going to get much traction at the moment. It has to be the long game (which is fine as we are never too far from the next shambles). -
Bristol City got £25million for Scott, who’s not in the same stratosphere as Adam Wharton… but they weren’t distressed sellers.
-
Not a chance Swahail get grief at Derby. They’ll be lording it up in the posh seats as Eustace gets both barrels for being a 🐍
-
A Championship merry go round manager, is what it is, could have stumbled upon worse… I.e if we’d have picked up a result on Saturday, Lowey on a three year deal.
-
A few weeks ago the Chadster was saying how much of a mess the club was, now it’s all hunky dory again and if you say otherwise he’s restored back to the tiresome ‘negative’ barb. It’s how he always is and always will be, so I wouldn’t get in a day long back and forth with him about it (I’ve learned from bitter experience).
-
I imagine Lowe would take it, sizeable pay increase (imagine how crap his present cone and bib wage is if we only pay c600k for a manager when in a PL play off place), get sacked, get a pay out and then put the cones out somewhere else if he fanci… oh shit, wait a minute, we don’t sack managers. Lowey with a job for life then - would fit well with operation managed decline though.
-
Hedges is a prime example of the nonsense of modern football. A wide player picked more for ‘what he does off the ball’ then what he actually can produce on it, you know, that passé stuff like, taking on a man, crossing, passing, shooting.
-
Two, Bowyer in 2015. But point still stands, one sacking in a decade, we don’t pot managers here, a great place to get your feet under the table… but then you do have to operate in VenkyWorld.

Who thinks they are lucky to be up there? They are up there because they have a load of good players for this level due to parachute payments allowing them to spend far more than equivalent sized clubs (only ten sides out of 24 with a lower average crowd). Until and unless they have a monumental feck up and somehow mess up the parachute seasons this is how it will be.

Load of games against relegation rivals, doesn't look unsurmountable to me, I certainly wouldn't be taking them at odds on.
-
He’s 23 with 200 games under his belt, for a side that’s spent the majority of it far closer to the top 6 than the bottom one. He’s a Championship player (now if he falls down the leagues due to making wrong career moves/greedy agents that’s a different issue and he won’t be the last on that score).
-
I’d be very surprised at that as I don’t think Derby ever give more than the standard allocation for league games.

Hi Eddie 👋 Ghost two posts above mine (and throughout the thread).

Stop the new manager talk because, err, folk keep stating there’s no new manager!
-
Goodison and Anfield are a trek too as there’s no railway station anywhere close so it’s either find a bus or a fair walk
-
I agree there needs a priority system for the once in a blue moon game where demand outstrips supply here- doesn’t need to be points, never was before this season. ’Season ticket holders with x away games’ and taper down. Simple, like it always was
-
Championship midweeks are now desolate places with every game on TV - no travelling fans and a load of ST holders serve it… but it’s what the clubs wanted.

The State of Ewood Park!
Mattyblue replied to A Northern Horde...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Swag is ‘CEO’ in name only, if only Suhail was just a puppet. -
People still saying he won’t get another gig at this level - he will, no question.
-
Behaviour has changed in football grounds, massively so at Ewood. They are unrecognisable environments from not that long ago - you must be fairly young if you think otherwise.
-
Having a ‘points’ system is, err, pointless here, Dingles aside when was the last time an away game didn’t go to open sale? Just make the Dingle game ‘ST holders with x away games’ before all ST holders and job done. More nonsense from the brains trust to put alongside ‘Digital Day’ and having a manned away ticket office counter (for pick ups), but not actually selling away tickets - for an end with nearly 8,000 seats).
