No it’s an entirely pointless exercise from our perspective but it allows them to box tick ‘fan consultation’, passionate volunteers like yourself are being used in reality. I suppose only you can decide if it’s worth your time and frustration year in year out.

That’s my point. No other football club in that scenario would have appointed this guy. Just think of the interest for such a gig, just think of the incentives an ambitious club could have put under the nose of a potential quality manager. Not a serious football club and this is the latest manifestation of it.

So no meetings between November and April. They don’t even bother paying lip service to ‘fan consultations’ now. Yet WATR still want to engage them…

He’ll be ‘given a chance’ because he’s on a deal till 2028 and we don’t sack managers here (and the fans don’t particularly give them a hard time either). He’ll never be ‘given a chance’ better than this…

I back the players every game, but I can still go to those around me and go ‘not too confident today’… doesn’t make me any less of a fan, you know!
