He held on to the same formation for far too long despite obvious flaws and showed loyalty to his favourite players to find a way to get them into the team, resulting in some surreal decisions playing people miles out of position, including the legendary Bradley Johnson playing false 9. Formation? Changed every year with his style of football. But once he settled on one for the season it very rarely changed. Youthful? Well, yes. But often prioritising other teams youth before our own. He has a great relationship with City and Liverpool, meaning we often got their players on loan. Whilst we saw some good players - Elliott, Aderabayo, Harwood Bellis, it was at the detriment to our own players. Mid Table? An absolute shoe in. Don't be surprised if you're in superb form before Christmas/January then there's a huge breakdown called the 'Tony Mowbray Death Spiral' where everything goes wrong, the formation doesn't change and you lose momentum ending up in a mid-table finish. I would be underwhelmed as well. Good luck, rather you than me if I'm honest.
