  1. I'm not surprised he has been sack but its the timing of the decision and the fact they played on Sunday. So why not sack earlier in the week? Its appears that the new manager will have 7 games to keep them up but its shows that the owners are in full panic mode and really worried about the financial impact of relegation. They must be in advance talks with someone given they have sacked the entire Dyche coaching staff. Who will appoint will be interesting? Also wonder what role Mike Rigg is playing in this and does he have an influence in bringing in a new manager?
  2. You see it time after time that players chase the money over the playing football. More young players who do this or the wrong loan move
  3. I'm not surprised by the sacking but surprised by the timing given that the right time was Monday or Tuesday not Friday, Don't you play on Sunday? Shows that Burnley owners are in full on panic mode. Who would you want to replace him?
  4. Root as a batsman will still produce the runs just need to find a couple more quality batsmen to fit into out batting line up then pick 4 quality bowlers including the best spinner. But we need to appoint the right director of cricket who will make the county game and test cricket more of focus than in recent years, Appoint separate test and white ball coaches then appoint Ben Stokes as test cricket captain.
  5. and that's where some people go wrong chasing the money instead of playing football and enjoying it
  6. I never said it shouldn't be but we need to appoint the right manager/head coach along with new head of recruitment(I would like to see a Director of football appoint) this summer cos I have assumed Mowbray is going in the summer and I assume the Venus, Park, Lowe and Benson will go with him.
  7. Waggott and Mowbray both reported to him and then reported to the owners. In fact he is the CEO of Blackburn Rovers basically in name.
  8. I would drop Rothwell has his performances haven't been good enough. Also Can Dack play more than 45 mins in a game.
  9. Root will be in the team going forward. Stokes appears the only candidate for the summer but we need sort out the next Director of Cricket position, next Test coach and the next test captain. We need to appoint the new Director of Cricket within the next 2 weeks and from reports it appears to be Rob Key who seems to in line for it. If appoint he has massive job to do. Its fine saying that sort of comments but the problems of England cricket is bigger than Root as Captain. Lack of quality players about, county championship cricket played at the wrong time, England focus has been too much on white ball cricket
  10. a person who sit in front of me suggested him a couple of games ago. We need to be aiming for right candidate that fit in within the club structure and what the football and transfer strategy is going forward. I have see this sort of comment that we need to be aiming for better if the ambition is promotion plenty recently on different social media sites
  11. No I didn't. What I actually said I thought he would sign a new contract here in the summer after the season was finished.
  12. Lancashire played the first day of county championship cricket at Kent yesterday. Lancashire won the toss and elected to Bat first. after day 1 we are 344/4. Centuries from Captain Vilas(124) and Croft(113 not out). Phil Salt is the other not out batsman currently. The Lancashire team is Balderson, Wells, Bohannon, Croft, Vilas(C), Salt(wk), Wood, Lamb, Bailey, Hasan Ali, Parkinson
  13. Mowbray and Rovers must attack from minute 1 and play on the front foot and hopefully the back 3 is dropped in favour of more attacking formation of 4-2-3-1
  14. Lenihan going there would be massive disappointment and angry from myself given all that our club has done for him in his career here. I hope he doesn't go there but stays here
  15. But you didn't answer my question about why you keep mentioning playing careers when no-one from you have? Wilcox worked at Man City academy structure for 10 years and has brought through players into the first team squad and players who have played first team football elsewhere. Mason has worked with Spurs youth team for 2 years and It was a name I mention. But I did say that Club need to do its proper research into potential candidates and work out what type of footballing structure we need at the club for short and long term
  16. Yes I have and I agree with your point about his injury record.
  17. Cos our academy players will be major part of football and transfer strategy going forward. I think we will see more academy players coming through in the couple of years. Farke didn't have a track record before Norwich and their Sporting Director Stuart Webber appointing Frake from Dortmund reserves/youth. I said Farke would be appealing but his experience at Norwich is head coach and not as manager and seems to need a director of football. On Bilic, I don't think its a realistic suggestions currently even tho I wanted to replace Allardyce 12 years ago.
  18. No I haven't seen him play but read a couple of articles on him, but basing on him playing for Everton and I don't think Pike will break through here sadly cos pre covid/lockdown I thought he would be. Was Brown playing professional football in Ireland before joining here?
  19. Alot will depends on finances there in the summer available to spend and what the squad look like but looks like massive overhaul is needed. The biggest mistake was the lack of quality replacement to replace Big Sam
  20. Well that is Mowbray all over now and his stubborn to drop the back 3 which is no longer working BUT he is unwilling to change tactics and formation from the start of the game. Well you clearly have a different opinion which to be honest doesn't surprised with you
  21. No one is basing on their views on people playing careers apart from you. I haven't mentioned playing careers in any post so why are you mentioning it? I am basing my opinions on coaching careers. I gave 2 examples of managers who have had success and prove their worth who had no 1st team managerial experience until a club gave them a chance and look at their success they had. What and who is the potential managerial market then? I've seen plenty of names mention on here I wouldn't want here as Mowbray's replacement
  22. Looks like Rob Key has become the favourite for England's director of cricket after Marcus North withdraw his application Rob Key could be appointed England managing director 'by the end of the month' - Mirror Online England face big changes under Rob Key with Root in firing line but veteran duo may return (msn.com)
