  1. Gav’s right, you are having a laugh. Plenty of information was put to the football authorities to draw the conclusion that they were unfit owners. It suited them to ignore it. Always be “insufficient evidence” for that lot.
  2. We have been through this aspect many times. Its not primarily about criminal behaviour although some has been alleged. Its about breaking the rules, acting inappropriately, whether these allegations can be held to show that the owners are unfit. Its not about the criminal threshold of "beyond reasonable" doubt but the civil one of "on the balance of probabilities". So, no-one seriously expected anyone to be arrested. We just want the football authorities to have the guts to do what they are paid handsomely to do---manage football in the interests of the game.
  3. On the basis of that, I wonder if there is a regular place for Dolan? Of if there will be a bit of a rotation policy? I appreciate that a rest for him every now and again is wise given the way he plays, but I wouldn't like to see him on the fringes.
  4. There were lessons to be learned from Saturday, but that was the biggest. Waggot, you got it very wrong, make the prices affordable and people will come—-even after a 7-0 home drubbing!. No home advantage without an atmosphere. Let’s get Ewood rocking again!
  5. I’m not arguing with you! Just pointing out what I read.
  6. You haven't mentioned attendances! If things have improved year on year, where have the fans gone? And why?
  7. No, I think you're right!
  8. Yet many Sheffield Utd fans blame Wilder for the mess that they are in. eg from the BBC site: This is Wilders terrible waste of money on pub league players thats left us in this mess
  9. Agree. Let's not forget last season where we wasted the whole season playing so-called possession football. We dominated possession but lost games! This season that's been abandoned apparently because we haven't got the personal for it!! Absolutely laughable! We beat Sheff Utd handsomely, we absolutely destroyed them. But, guess what? They had over 60% of possession! So what he spent the whole year trying to put into practice doesn't work anyway, at least not at Championship level. I don't feel I've been on a journey with Mowbray, but I do feel I've been taken for a ride!
  10. I don't think we need to worry about that dilemma for much longer!!!
  11. I'm not negative, just realistic and consistent.
  12. I was elated at both the performance and result and I don't need any lectures in loyalty from you thanks. If I thought Mowbray would learn any lessons from this game and not tinker around I'd be even happier. I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw this same eleven again!
  13. If you want to base your opinions on the most recent game and ignore what's been going on for years , that's your prerogative. I am elated at the win but not stupid enough to think past the next game. I've learned that lesson over the last 11 years.
  14. Amen to all that but Davenport is a classic case of Mowbrayism. He has had no chance to carve out a meaningful career here. He plays now and again, looks like there's something to build on , then disappears for weeks. You would like to think he'd figure regularly now but will he?
  15. I don't see how you can take the positives out of 3 games when 1 was an absolutely unprecedented 7-0 home defeat. Some how or other we have recovered for this game and I'm delighted about that. But the fragility of the squad makes me worry where the next battering will come from. Personally I just think we are treading water, we almost certainly won't be relegated but haven't the talent or nous at any level of the club to be promoted. If we managed it by a miracle, I would shudder at the prospect of seeing us back in the Premier League. We have been promoted there 2 times, but each time the squad just needed topping up. We had plenty of players whom we could confidently predict would do well in the top league. Lucky if there's 2 now.
  16. He has been an inspirational captain at times in a squad devoid of leaders. be careful what you wish for.
  17. Its becoming the norm at Rovers that we want to keep certain leading players and those players are refusing to re-sign. Logical to think that Rovers are trying to keep them on the cheap and not making realistic offers.
  18. We could pay them a realistic wage? Its the only thing that would keep them here. If we don't, then we can "look forward" to losing any players talented enough to attract attention from other clubs. If you answer is"we can't afford to pay them more because of FFP or dwindling attendances or whatever then we are on a slippery downward slope to relegation and oblivion. What's this journey we we've been on for nearly 5 years about then? Assemble a squad and sell it cheaply and back to the start we go?
  19. Who was the pilot Den?
  20. How many members does the Trust have? Is it 400? I hope that those who criticise them have actually joined up? C'mn--make a difference!
  21. Mowbray's job to get the balance right in the side though. Every team needs some "scrappers", the ones who go the extra mile and rev up the others. We've always had our share over the years but not now.
  22. Ten years ago I wrote that if nobody turned up at Ewood for a game, Kean would be gone tomorrow. We are not powerless. Renewed protest inside and out of the ground would help. We have the example of Blackpool. When fans who have followed Rovers for decades no longer care whether we win or lose, then the end is nigh--one way or another.
  23. Only when those bastards have gone.
  24. I notice TM asking rhetorically how much is Brereton worth "£30 million, £40 million"? Is this a reminder to the owners as to what a great job he's doing? Or is he simply drumming up business because, if he is worth anything like TM is claiming, there is no way we could pay him what he's worth.
