  1. Its as if we're trying to get them to 300+.
  2. Steve Kean has helped his new club to its worst season in its history. I'm talking of Melbourne Victory, likely to finish last for the first time ever.Lost 4 of last five games, 7 points from 12. Wouldn't get a job with Darwen FC never mind Champions League. To think Venkys swallowed all that guff--- I feel sick
  3. Yeah but you're thinking rationally. Nothing rational about this lot. It seems they wanted the prestige of owning a Premier League club and when we dropped out they lost interest. They only ever wanted to run it on the cheap, as soon as they bought it Madame was talking about winning Championships and European football while putting in £5M a year. Tiny amount even then. She also talked about "borrowing " players from other clubs as the way to go rather than paying out transfer money. Never had an atom of common sense from the off.
  4. That's hardly true though. he has hardly featured for us at all since we resigned him. I think he simply doesn't fit into the manager's style of play which is not to have wingers and to play "wide strikers" to go with his false nine"! I'd like to see a decent manager come in and give him a chance. If he fails, we wouldn't be worse off would we? They're all failing now up-front.
  5. I said he was the only hope we had so you're saying we have no hope---and I'm quite inclined to believe that.
  6. The only chance we have got imo. Balaji won't sell nor will he involve himself in the club to gain the knowledge and experience needed. Doesn't worry about the money lost---plenty more where that came from. Buy something else and move on. A spoit brat who wouldn't understand how we fans have invested so much of our lives in this great old club, often with family connections going back generations. His son has been schooled here and lives here now. Maybe, just maybe, he can develop affection for the club he'll be handed on a plate. I don't expect to be around when and if it happens, however let's hope there's enough fans left to see it.
  7. Shit---thats even worse!
  8. I'm terrified by the number of people dying aged 74! 😨
  9. Here's a few suggestions Chaddy-----from you!! chaddyrovers World Cup Members 6154 29976 posts Season Ticket BBE /mb/img/winner.png Posted yesterday at 06:39 (edited) Here are some British managers/head coaches we could target to replace Mowbray before next season Unemployed people:- Chris Wilder Mark Hughes Alex Neil Alan Pardew Garry Monk Neil Harris Tony Pulis Mark Bowen Employed people but some realistic targets in my opinion Mark Robins from Coventry Gareth Ainsworth from Wycombe Ryan Lowe from Plymouth David Artell from Crewe Karl Robinson from Oxford Gary Rowett from Millwall Callum Davidson from St. Johnstone Lee Carsley, England Under 20's manager Here are some Foreign managers/head coaches we could target to replace Mowbray before next season(dont know whether they would be interested as I don't follow European football much) Marco Silva, former Everton, Watford and Hull head coach Bruno Lage, former Benfica head coach Vladimir Ivic, Former Watford head coach David Wagner, Former Huddersfield head coach What do people think and feel free to suggestion potential targets in you have any. Thanks
  10. You should have done a Captain Mainwaring there Stuart "I wondered who'd spot that first!"
  11. India!! Actually they don't seem interested do they?
  12. Good old Chris Sutton!! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9383975/Chris-Sutton-wears-hilarious-half-half-jersey-colours-Blackburn-Norwich.html
  13. 3 probable reasons at least: The team is chopped and changed every game, players who played well don't feature---they get disheartened. The squad is so unbalanced--we have no wingers and no central strikers other than Armstrong who is too small to play up there on his own. Therefore we can't score goals. Players out of position, no idea what they are meant to be doing. All adds up to demoralisation and most players going backwards including Elliott. Nothing will change while Mowbray is the mismanager.
  14. ridiculous that we have no idea what they are mandated to do. I'd have thought it was easy---get us back in the Premiership asap. Clearly not that though.
  15. What exactly is "the job" then----finish 15th and lose thousands of fans? If so---job done!
  16. Tony will shake things up for you. Your team has got too complacent, thinking that because they are a left-footed defender, that's where they'll play. Tony will reinvigorate them with new challenges. Every week!
  17. Yeah, good point! What is a false 9? Someone who can't play there?
  18. Nobody actually said that did they?
  19. He was hopeless but on the specific point of Gallagher, he got more out of him than Mowbray. That's undeniably true and therefore a damning indictment of Mowbray. Moaning after the game that its the lack of a decent strike-force that's the difference between us and them! What a bloody hide! £12M Tony!
  20. But, but----if anyone posted that Coyle got more out of Gallagher than Mowbray did---they'd be right wouldn't they?
  21. Funny you saying that. Was just thinking today when I was reading the Nostalgia thread, how lucky I was to be born and watch our great club in all those various times and divisions. The play we see on those clips and the excitement of the crowd is nothing like what we see now. Suppose I'd been born in 2010---how on earth could my Dad have bribed me to watch us? Where are our future fans to come from?
  22. Peter Lorimer died aged 74. Great player.
  23. Didn't they have 2 goals disallowed for offside? But you're right, it was a stinking hot day. and we did well to stay on our feet. Never felt anything like it in May.
  24. Losing 1-0 all the time means 1) that there's always a defensive mistake in us and 2)we can't score. Carry on taking points at the current rate and we'll go down. Rotherham have games in hand. We could be saved by Wednesday's points deduction. What a wretched season.
