That's why you have to take anything Orr says with a pinch of salt. -
Ben Marshall - Under The Cosh Podcast #89

Tommy Spur is one of the steadiest left backs we've had in the Venky Championship decade. He knew how defend despite having no pace and no frills. -
I think we need to consider he took over a far more solid team and club now in Sunderland than the mess he he inherited here. Really wouldn't be surprised if he has a good season or two up there before it begins to resemble his blueprint of mid table Mogga. I don't know the state of their finances up there but i'll be amazed if he can retain all their best players AND spend 15 million though......

I knew they had a good history but i was surprised it was as good as it was when i looked it up. Makes me laugh when Liverpool fans used to sing you haven't got no history to a few other clubs. Real history is the likes of us and Sunderland but as pointed out the only reason they have a huge fanbase is their area, just like the barcode neighbours. If Manchester and Liverpool was 30 miles away and there was 4 other historical league clubs within 12 miles radious their crowds wouldn't look half as impressive. Anyway i look forwards to Tony telling them it's not 1974 anymore in the near future.

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

The facebook fans should be looking where we are now and realising the sky didn't fall in the min he left the building. In fact in many ways there was a collective sigh of relief. -

I expect some more rotating about up top but the defence to remain the same. Luton 1 Rovers 1 -

No but it makes it par for the course and not really something that can be blamed on Rovers in isolation. It's another football issue in general. -

Similar wherever you go with these outsourced catering franchise, cinema, big time boxing, music venues etc Shite but they get away with it although you'd think modest sized 'community' football clubs could offer something different. Having said that the stuff at Rovers is far from the worst you'll come across if you travel about a bit. -
So it's just a standard ST with games past knocked off then ?

Just a question of rotation that i think given the way JDT wants his front men to play there'll be a lot of rotating across the front this season. Edun is a handy utility man but he needs to be down the pecking order when everyone is fit. -

Glad Carter his proving his worth i maintained all along we should keep him and give him his chance he's like a new signing. A bit like Wharton when on loan he got rave reviews regularly and he seems similar in attitude just loves to roll his sleeves up. My kinds of players and it's often been missing to have an entire back line like that here in the last decade. -

Aye with many calling it a sideways step for a few more quid but thankfully he hasn't had a bad start here. -

These are the risks when you make money motivated sideways steps although i'm sure Coventry fans have said the same about Hyam. -
I suspect Mowbray had an inkling he was in line for this job should Neil find an opportunity to move on. It's all a bit of an amazing set of coincidences and perhaps he was touting himself for the job last time it was vacant. All sorts goes on in the background in football and nothing at all surprises me. Had he got the gig a bit early he'd have been raiding our ranks again i reckon. Who'd be surprised if Nyambe ends up there amongst others, he'll probably try and loan in Armstrong as well at some point.

Nothing against Sunderland he's their manager so the fans will back him for now but the tanker comment is quite apt. Big lumbering slow moving vessels (ideal for an old plodder as captain) that are prone to list and sink in stormy waters. If Rovers are run correctly we are a speedboat compared to that lot as has been proved in the past, Mowbray would rather shut off the engines and use oars instead.

If Bournemouth were going to stump up 3 mill for Rothwell in January then a well placed Championship club or desperate Prem club could well try for BBD in Jan for double that. There is every chance we'd still get the fee back if they took the gamble and got rid. Absolutely no guarantee he'd want to hump ship just anywhere though for the sake of it. -
His attitude stunk the last few seasons he;d have been on his bike had there not been a year with no fans. He'd have flipped at the least bit of stick during the possession nonsense some of his comments then were pathetic to be honest. I'm glad some are finally coming to terms with his true colours - just another self serving football gravy train rider. I actually think he might do well at Sunderland if he gets a bit of backing. I reckon though he's just got another pension pot gig there by the sounds of it. Just eeking it out till he's 60 as was the plan here. Mark Venus must be the luckiest man in football hanging onto his shirt tails.

R.I.P. QUEEN ELIZABETH
tomphil replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
Sinclair knew exactly what he was doing Not long before that he was praising the Queen but he spotted his clickbait opportunity and took it but being another pig thick ex footballer he didn't think it through. The guy has been arrested for a racial slur in the past so we know race baiting is his thing and only Talkshite employ fools like that. Anyway God Save the King, sod Trevor Sinclair. -

tomphil replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The decision rested with the EPL and EFL so it was entirely predictable they'd fancy a day off. I'm one percent on board with things being cancelled on the day of the funeral as a mark or respect but this i feel is just counter productive. -

Predictable, yes understandable in a way but it does nothing but add to peoples sadness really. That's not what the Queen was all about.
