EFL League 1 and 2 chat

It seems like Beckham and Neville cleared off well before the end. Cringey is the word I would use too - Sky were orgasmic. On the football side I haven't seen a team as big as Wrexham for a while. It looks like Parkinson wants to kick his way out of League One. -

That wasn't the 'project' that they banged on about. What you are saying isn't a project, it's standard practice at normal clubs. -
It's inevitable we will lose at some point but I will be interested to see how we react. A fundamental difference between the two recent managers for me is that Eustace appears to know how to get a result and the experience he has in the squad will certainly help in this respect.

A Dingle free zone 😄.

I am feeling the same as I read lots of posts expecting to win. However I'm confident now that the people that matter most in this respect, the staff and players will be fully prepared and have a plan to get a result. Winning there would be sweet and it's about time we saw them scurrying home and starting a 'Heckingbottom out' campaign. 😄

Well done.

We originally got 3878, asked for another 1000 and then a further 800.

Winning games gives you the ultimate goal of promotion. -
I really wouldn't even consider leaving Ohashi out. His mobility is better than that of Gueye and in a game in which I believe there will be few chances his goal to chances ratio is far better than any other player. Gueye is a decent option off the bench depending on how things go.

Why on earth you reply to something that irks me (clearly you must have liked it) I have no idea. Actually the project was to develop young players to sell on it you listened to Broughton. He talked about becoming self sufficient as part of the project. -

I liked Tomasson but used to get really irked with the 'project' that him and Broughton referred to regularly. The only 'project' I'm interested in is winning games by any means. Eustace is on the same page. -

Did anybody else see Pears waving an imaginary yellow card after he was clattered late by a Bristol player in the second half? And Madueke of Chelsea did exactly the same in tonight's game with no punishment. -

Just look at the smile on Yuki's face at the end of this clip. That for me has made a really good day even better. -

How great it is to see Rovers fans walking away from Ewood with a smile on their faces. We will have sterner tests this season for sure but you can only beat what is in front of you and today was pretty comprehensive in all departments. I thought Dolan was our best player despite Ohashi scoring two quality goals. By his own standards Ohashi was below par in the first half but his attitude is first class. Dolan was involved in lots of good things we did and his pressing was great. It's amazing to think we were worried about where the goals would come from after selling Szmodics but our fears have so far been unfounded as the twelve goals so far have allayed that fear. A clean sheet is always welcome but a special word of praise from me for Pears. One sloppy pass in the first half aside he was pretty much faultless and his save in the second half was a turning point in the game for me. I read lots of comments from fans who wanted him to be dropped but his performance today will keep him in the side for sure. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to get carried away yet but our start has surprised me as I didn't in my wildest dreams expect to be second albeit after only five games. -

There are certain fixtures when the no tickets on the day policy makes sense but Oxford and Bristol City are really low risk in that respect. I'd love to know the rationale here. -

800 or so Bristol City fans are expected today with NO tickets available on the day again. Who on earth is making these silly decisions - I'd really like to see their justification. -
A decent watch with both teams having a go and I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Once again Litherland, Caddick and Powell were the stand out players for me. One frustration on the night was players wanting an extra touch or looking to pass when I felt they could have got a shot away. In fairness this seems to be a trait that has crept into football perhaps in pursuit of scoring the perfect goal. © Guardiola.

Try getting in touch with Lindsey Talbot at the club and explain the circumstances ie it's your girlfriends first game, travelled from American etc. There is no guarantee but in the last supporters travelling from other countries have been given VIP treatment. -
To counter that I think it will give opportunities to some of the first and second year Scholars.

https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/september/11/rovers-to-compete-in-central-league-cup/ Another four games (minium) announced as Rovers are playing in the Central League Cup. With PL 2, International Cup, Lancashire Senior Cup and Premier League Cup there will be plenty of games for them this season.

Tracking our (outbound) loan players 24/25

I was thinking about this during the game last night. For an outfield player being loaned out it should be beneficial from a physical aspect but that wouldn't really apply to a goalkeeper. There is also an element of character building too which is what you allude to. The facilities in non league compared to what they are used to should give them a greater appreciation of the real football world. -

I went along to Bamber Bridge last night and saw a really entertaining game. Michalski made some good saves and made good use of the ball when it was at his feet. Having seen him playing for Rovers at various levels he always struck me as a hugely confided player. Last night he was vocal and engaged in 'banter' with the Prescot Cables supporters behind his goal. -

A big thing for me about young players is testing them and that only really happens by moving up to the next level. Davies, Litherland, Doherty and Olson are players who play in the same position and are younger. Litherland in particular has impressed me. However Saadi did offer some versatility and was able to move into midfield.
