  1. Past hour
  2. Duff wouldn’t stand for any of the shit. No manager with aspirations will come here because the club has no aspirations.
  3. Mowbray would not be my first choice but he's an improvement. For me, I'd give it to Duff. No shortage of passion and I'm dam sure he'd put a bit of the feel good factor back.
  4. "After finishing seventh last season thanks to a late season surge under Ismaël" With all due respect, get fucked with this narrative. Shows a total lack of understanding of basic recent history, so didn't read any further.
  5. Firmly in the NO to Mowbray camp: Couldn't save us last time and he should have (arguably in an even bigger mess now with worse players) 9 to 10 years on, recent serious illness and abilities in decline (failed miserably at WBA second time around) Him and Venus too old school - desire and hunger or a chance to further top-up their pension pots!? Neither trust nor like the guy - at the helm when Waggott's plan to carve up Brockhall came to light and always moaned about his distance away from home and family life only to later rock-up at Brum then WBA! Could be Bailey doing his pal a favour and getting his name out there. We need a change of manager/head coach but for me, Mowbray is not the man; IMO, mainly in it for himself and you need to look beneath that 'Uncle Tony' persona he likes to portray.
  6. From their perspective then, this makes sense. They will hope it will build bridges of sorts. It won't, or at least it shouldn't, but some fans will lap it up. I'm not one.
  7. I'd happily have TM back because, at the very least, he can't be worse than VI. However, I'm doubtful he'd keep us up, the make up of the squad is very different to anything he had with us where we may have had relatively decent seasons. Also he's spoken highly of Pasha and the Venkys, so it does little towards the removal of either.
  8. Oh for god sake why do teams re-hash former managers? No to Mowbray! Use some imagination, other teams manage to find great managers from nowhere but we are looking in the old folks home 🙄🙄
  9. In theory it sounds plausible, but on closer inspection I am not so sure. We're a Championship club with the legacy of a Premiership structure. Although things have been starved on the playing front, we have a 31,000 seater stadium and Cat 1 Youth Academy. You have to factor in the structural costs of running the club, staffing levels, maintaining the ground (even if it is half-empty) and the less tangible cost of fan expectations. Even if a contingent of our supporters have been beaten down, the rest won't settle for following a League One side. It would take some SERIOUS restructuring for us to function at third-tier level. If the goal is cost-control, then League One is a terrible place for Rovers. Like I said before, this is pure neglect from disengaged, disinterested, and disgraceful owners.
  10. Bring Mowbray back until summer, for me! From my understanding, he was one of the few managers who actually had a real relationship with Mrs. Desai et al., whereas all the others have had to go through Suhail, meaning he might be able to talk some sense into them.
  11. Little Eva - Keep Your Hands Off Baby I saw her back in 1964. She was a young lads wet dream
  12. He'd have to do a bit of backtracking on the whole 'that NE to NW commute each week is too much' thing. But I'd take TM back over VI every day of the week, certainly as a short term option. I'd still take Big Sam over both of them, however long he's been out of the game. We'd finish comfortably in the top half this season.
  13. I wasn't enthused about Mowbray first time round and he didn't save us from relegation with a better side than we have now. The only consolation for me , if this story is true, is that the club is at last showing some concern. That's only a start though, I don't have faith that they can fix it.
  14. I'd prefer him to replace Gestede then appoint someone under him who has an idea of what they are doing.
  15. The Chicken Chokers won’t be bothered either way. They probably never give us another thought.
  16. Why Motherwell's Maswanhise is Scotland's hottest property - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5y4667j2zgo No chance he's coming here
  17. Bailey is a Middlesbrough centred journalist so it might have foundation, we know that this lot like to take the easy, obvious option rather than explore the big wide world hence their reluctance to make changes and keep the status quo. Or perhaps Mowbray is just ready to work again and is getting his name out via a friendly journalist. I agree we'd be better leaving him in the past and moving on.But I'd also take him over keeping the current situation. A lot, probably including those making decisions, are letting their hearts rule their heads and getting nostalgic.
  18. Legendary is a bit strong. I'd take Mowbray till the end of the season, just to get rid of Ismael. He'll probably oversee our drop into League One twice in his career though. Rowett would be a better shout though, I think.
  19. Makes too much sense so won’t happen. Same with the Motherwell lad, unfortunately
  20. Today
  21. The King is dead, long live the King! Come back Tony, all is forgiven!
  22. At this stage in his life and career why would he want the hassle plus he'd probably want a fortune to make it worth his while. Remember this is the guy who before he was unfortunately ill constantly moaned about being 2 hrs away from home..... before a year or two later pitching up at Brum then West Bromwich. Like Ismael he couldn't do anything at WBA despite a better squad than we have here. There are many questions but this time around Tony Mowbray isn't the answer i don't think. Rowett for me.
  23. what thing came off? Like passing a ball to a team mate?
  24. If it's a 6 month pay day for TM then I reckon he'd come. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. He'd know what players he had, no transfer window to get screwed over in. Come in, keep us up and his stock rises. Come in, take us down and it's Val's fault
