  1. Past hour
  2. Valerian needs to go. Absolutely terrible manager
  3. Paul Anka - Put Your Head On My Shoulder
  4. Pretty happy with that signing, we desperately need goals
  5. Which proven championship players were available within #Rovers budget?
  6. His hold up play looks impressive and the goals at international level suggest he has something. Im actually really excited by this signing and with decent delivery we may finally have someone who can head some goals in!
  7. Alebiosu has looked good too. In reality we need to replace Brittain, Travis, Dolan and Batth - I don’t think any other departures would/should get in our squad let alone our first 11 (Beck the exception but we replaced him last year). Question is whether Alebiosu, McLaughlin, Tavares, Baradji, Morishita are capable replacements for those 4 outgoings. A lot of that will depend on Baradji I guess, who we may not see for a while. Nice to see we’re investing in a striker too, where we were clearly short last season and again so far this year. Personally, it’s the manager I’m worried about. He has a pretty terrible record so far.
  8. Another frustrating day yesterday, but all issues about the owners, Pasha, Gestede aside I do not see the need to panic like some on here are. The new players will take time to get up to speed, even those who've had prior championship experience. For those of a certain vintage, who remembers the clogger that was Tim Sherwood when we first signed him?! I've seen plenty of positives from most of the new players to be confident we'll have an ok season. Which considering the churn of players this summer is probably the best we can realistically hope for. We've been unlucky with some officiating but also been poor in key areas of the field when it counts (like yesterday; the ref did not contribute much to our defeat imo, as poor as he was on many occasions). I'd also add that W Brom, Brum & Norwich are amongst most pundits picks for top 8 finishes. I'd be far more worried if we'd lost to Oxford, Portsmouth & Stoke - like we did last season incidentally, yet we still finished 7th! We need more new players & new players need time. Let's give them a bit of slack to find their feet & some consistency as in all the games I've seen so far (Bradford aside), we've been there or thereabouts in each of them & but for some fine margins we could have 4 or 5 more points on the board & be having very different discussions. Like I said, all this is ignoring the real problem, which as we all know is not going away any time soon.
  9. We shouldn’t have had a point yesterday as we had no one good enough to put the ball in the net, something we have been highlighting all summer Against Birmingham, we got what we deserved due to a lack of individual quality in the last 5 minutes. Downgrade your players and that’s what happens. The individual performances so far have been less that what we were used to from those they have replaced. Let’s hope they either adapt or improve quickly. You say tactics isn’t the problem. I’m inclined to agree. It’s the quality of the players why we have lost 4 out of 5. Otherwise what else are we blaming? Luck? Referees?
  10. 1 in 3 too. Maybe Gueye gets 30 for us this year too then. That logic works
  11. He will definitely get injured on international duty.
  12. What was Szmodics like for Peterborough?
  13. McGuire had a photo with the top on means nothing
  14. Its a sad situation, our 150th year and its starting to feel like a Wake.Nothing to look forward to. God help our Attendances if we're near the bottom of the League come Winter time and some Mid Week Games! 😟
  15. I've said twice now but he's 1 in 6 in Belgium for a top tier. Gueye was 1 in 3 for a mid table lot
  16. I didn't actually expect it to be honest, been burned too many times in recent seasons (when are we getting a bottle of Mercers favourite red wine?), so I'm actually happy. Hope hes as good as his Dad because he'd be worth a fortune in today's market.
  17. It could happen well before then. To me, the whole place is set up like a pack of cards.
  18. Being the better team and losing is the sign of a side that will struggle. We got exactly what we deserved against Birmingham because we have took out over 1000 games experience at this level to be replaced with just over 100. We did not deserve a point yesterday, they sat off us in second half and let us have the ball as they were comfortable that we wouldn't hurt them. They should have been going into half time 3-0 up.
  19. Actually thought Cantwell was poor yesterday. The number of times he tried tackling on the wrong side of the Norwich players was alarming although he was far from the worst Rovers player. Kargbo is just poor, full stop. The new Japanese player looks more light weight than Ohashi. Tavares needs to get to the pace of the championship. Wharton and McLoughlin both too slow. Gueye isn't the only player who does not understand the offside rule as Ohashi also likes to stray. The attacking ball from midfield is usually released that split second too slow, I could go on. It is a sad review that finishes with the words 'IMO Ryan Hedges was our best player'
  20. I’m content that we’ve rolled the dice this summer considering the contract situations. When replacing Dolan, Travis, Brittain etc, presumably we faced either going for cheap, experienced championship players with very limited potential for improvement (Forshaw, Sanderson etc) or get creative and tap into foreign markets for unproven gems. No issue with going for the latter approach but the overhaul has been extreme. If we come good this season, it’s likely to be later in the year and how quickly these players settle will dictate if we survive (or better).
  21. Has Leonard's departure been confirmed yet?
