  1. Past hour
  2. My contribution to today 1875 Seventeen gather in a Blackburn pub eyes bright with promise.. 'This will be our club!' Blackburn Rovers, set to thrive Born 1875 In Cotton Town they worked to spin threads of blue and white that would weave within the generations that come between their dream and now They wove the fabric of our club, our town Blue and white shirts of great renown Blue and White ribbons on trophies evince success in every century since History has never seen a more successful small town team What times to be alive! Since 1875 Those threads through history remind us Whatever troubles come to find us Stand tall. Be proud. Let this club bind us Raise our scarves of white and blue Lift hearts and voices too: 'We love you Rovers, we do' Love and pride that still survives Born 1875
  3. They expected to fill Ewood Park with home fans which is why they limited Derby to half the DE. That's right, a 12:30pm Championship kick off after everything they have done to humiliate, degrade and alienate and they seriously thought the floodgates would open for fans to come today. As it happens there will of course be over 10,000 empty seats for the biggest milestone in the Club's history. Something for them to pat themselves on the back over. I have no doubt whatsoever that the planned release of the anniversary shirt has been postponed either because they want to first sell off the remaining stock of the 3 main kits or because someone is annoyed that the anniversary shirt has been leaked online this week and is making a point not to release it now. Of course logically having FOUR different kits this season, none of which are particularly impressive efforts, was always going to stretch budgets and luck. The home shirt is the most boring effort I can imagine and has the halves wrong, the gold one I don't understand why pictures of the railway station and Wainwright bridge are being used and the green one has no connection to our history and includes a white rose of Yorkshire, but apparently matches a shade of green contained on the town coat of arms. But even if you loved all three buying them all and then being asked to cough up another £90 for a white shirt with an ironed on cross was a lot to ask. Naturally of course they should have done what was suggested on here - have a proper anniversary home shirt that was released in the summer and worn all season - an all white one if necessary - and then a decent away one like all gold to honour the occasion. Job done. Two unique shirts for a one-off season. No need for fiasco or confusion.
  4. The support is there if this club ever got serious again (it won’t under this regime, so there is only one outcome that can lead to it).
  5. Reading the first page of this thread and Bill Fox was quoted about how blue and white has always been our colours, imagine the conversation with him over basing our whole 150th on Maltese crosses (and white smocks if they ever actually get round to having a commemorative shirt). But then he was a Blackburn and Rovers man through and through, unlike whatever that place is supposed to be now.
  6. When you have people running the Club who are not Supporters and just go through the motions.........
  7. Hope the fans have learned their lesson about chanting and booing and waving snakes at Eustace. It worked really well last year at Pride Park, 2-0 down after less than 10 mins and we had to take 85 mins of non-stop goading from the Derby fans, we looked like morons. If people think the way to support the club is to boo a manager who walked out because we are run like a pub team then they're a dream for Pasha and the Venks. Everyone needs to ignore Eustace, Weimann, et al today and if anyone has something bad to say aim it at that directors box in the JW.
  8. Today
  9. How the hell can we have a 150th anniversary game and not be playing in it? It's an absolute disgrace. The hierarchy are the definition of incompetence.
  10. Someone forgot to press send for Lewis O'Brien Someone forgot to press send on Duncan Maguire Someone forgot we're famous for playing on blue and white halves, not school polo shirts with a blue cross ironed on Someone forgot to check we're legally allowed beer in seats before pressing send Someone seems to have forgotten they told us there would be an anniversary shirt, even though it seems to be a shite looking one that they haven't released on the anniversary. Everything is fine though because we got a video from Alan Shearer. You could release a full-length hard back glossy photo book of all the absolutely stupid shit these idiots have done in the last 15 years just like the one they've released, it would win a number of prizes for fiction, no one would believe it was real.
  11. Sadly it is not ours anymore. Rovers sold it to the Venkys and we pay rent to use it.
  12. Should only ever be venkys and there minions who get flak from us, Derby fans are irrelevant. Said since the fixtures came out and this game fell on the anniversary that nothing good can come of today. Expecting a total embarrassment with all our ex staff and players taking the piss out if us. It will sum up the venkys reign perfectly.
  13. Looking at a decent crowd for a 12:30 game on Sky..JW and BBE lower look not far from being sold out. Any Angst today should be turned on our so-called Owners.
  14. Final shout for Issue 114 - on sale before the match today! 4,000 Holes was shortlisted for the FSA Fanzine of the Year award this week so a massive thank you goes out to our superb contributors who have made this happen and to readers for taking an interest. 16. The U18s play Everton this morning Stephen Edmondson (James brother) has found himself a new club after being released during the summer
  17. This is promising to be so hilariously shit.
  18. Don't think he was saying he wasn't good for us, anyone who thinks otherwise is blind. Kept us from being relegated, steadied the ship and made us solid at the back, gave us a playoff side forvthe following season and stood up to the jokers in this club . Eustace should he applauded if anything. It's the Derby fans that should get the flack
  19. Alas Rudy, what you cannot accept is the exact reason you will not be successful. It’s our training ground, you are the guest.
  20. Yesterday
  21. What if your Mrs told you she wanted to move to the Midlands?
  22. Sounds like old Walter might have been in line for a finders fee.
  23. You couldnt make it up about the Club making a big thing about people supposedly being allowed to drink in sight of the pitch for the "legends" game then being forced into a humiliating u turn 2 days later. If this idea was on the cards it should have been sorted and either cleared with the relevant authorities or discussed and dismissed as a non starter weeks ago. At this point it comes over as if they're actively trying to antagonise people with the white smock and now this.
  24. It's factual about what happened to Plainfield Asset Management Chaddy. Williams/or whoever was purporting to be Williams was probably pulling poor old Walter's chain as well. I found another LT article with comments attributed to Hubert saying "Williams's" Company Princeton Global Housing had secured contracts worth £750m to build houses in the Gabon. I could find any trace of that Company on the internet either then or now which is odd to say the least if they were as big as claimed.
  25. RF99, I have stated my opinions on Edwards going to Wolves on why it would be bad career move for him and why I wouldn't be moving there. Nothing more to add
  26. You're better than that Andy. Eustace was brilliant for us and also attempted to stand up to those twats. Your ccomments sound petty and vindictive.
  27. It’s irrelevant to say he’s already got money. If any of us got offered more money to go to a better company, we’d all do it. Why would football managers be any different? It’s literally job to them.
